I'm happy to answer the question. I have done it in the past, about 20 yrs ago, but I wouldn't do it now.
its something that a lot of british families have done since the days of butlins. mark warner promoted leaving children asleep at other resorts, even after Maddie had been abducted but there was no listening service at PDL.
The whole point is that it is not such an unusual thing to do. Jaime Oliver owns a restaurant in cornwall called 15. Its the other side of the car park from a hotel. No children allowed in the restaurant after 7.,30. Hotel offers a babylistening service, its on their web site

Mark warner were still promoting it on their website after Maddie was abducted. It is  still promoted at the Watergate Bay Hotel Newquay, its on their web site

its just common sense hence why in most countrys   its illegal   for under 12   to be home alone
