I hope you're right Red but that judge worries me. I wouldn't let her judge a beauty pageant (too complicated!) let alone a murder trial! I just hope the two assessors sitting either side of her are more clued up!

I didn't watch today but for  a few minutes, so not  sure what she's done but Roux is so extremely slappable, it's unbelievable the way he is trying to distort what witnesses are saying and then trying to put words into their mouths too and tell them what they were thinking or not! Unfortunately total  slimebags do win trials, lets see

The judge seems to me all in all to be behaving like a scribe or something, you wouldnt think she was the judge, its a little wierd, perhaps that's her "way"

Why do you say that, Tim?

Maybe she is just being understated..?

Sherlock understated is good. I was initially glad to see a single female judge; but today she could not follow a basic argument between the opposing advocates and asked the most ludicrous of questions. Hopefully she was just having a bad day at the office but she appeared totally clueless to me.

Thanks for that, Tim. I didn't have time yet to watch the video for today's proceedings but will look at it closely with the judge in mind.

Judge Thoko Masipa must have been thought very competent and capable of coming to a sensible decision in the Pistorius case to be appointed in the first place. She sentenced house robber Shepherd Moyo to life for three rape offences in May 2013.

And in a similar case to this current one she told former police inspector Freddy Mashamba that he deserved the sentence he received -  jail for life for shooting dead his wife in 2009.

Just watched the whole thing, Tim, and I'm not quite sure what you're referring to with regard to the judge's questions.

The argument between the advocates is where they are discussing whether Roux should be permitted to put to the witness questions about the two sets of noises he claims to have heard, and whether or not the witness could have got male and female screams mixed up, is that right?
