No Sadie.

You can't say that with absolute certainty, and unless I'm mistaken you are not a forensic scientist either.

As I said earlier dogs also play with objects as well, that is patently obvious to anyone who has a dog, and Eddie or Keela would have been no different.

Having some knowledge of Chemistry, I do know that some compounds can be adsorbed onto another surface(s) and/or within the material for extended periods of time. True they are many variables involved, but the failure of the toy to be tested, and, as Benice said the other material should have been bagged and tested as well, was poor practice  to say the least.

I've never said what the PJ did was perfect, but then what Police Service is.

A simple examination of newspapers/internet, will reveal many failures in UK police forces.

The PJ must have been certain that cuddle-cat was not forensically significant, because they had an opportunity to take the toy but didn't.

After Eddie had slobbered all over it (months down the line) there was definitely no point.

Maybe she watched the footage of the dog with Cuddle Cat in his mouth.  Hygenic? ... most certainly not.  In like circumstances, I would probably have washed it too.

Do you have a dog(s) Brietta ?

Maybe Eddie did slobber over it, but the olfactory  sense organs of dogs are extremely sensitive, far beyond the range of humans, but you already know that.

From Grime's rogatory interview:

Can you confirm if the signal given regarding the stuffed toy corresponds to a concrete alert of detection of a cadaver, or a mere trick played by the dog''

The dogs were not taught any 'tricks'. EVRD 'signalled' the toy, which at my request was retained by the Judicial Police for future forensic analysis. I have no knowledge of the results of any forensic analysis on the toy.

The toy was never sent.

All my life ... which makes me very conscious of certain hygiene issues connected with sharing a house with them.

I know first hand what they will pick up and eat or roll in, I know what they enjoy licking; so something which was not a ‘dog toy’ ending up in a dog’s mouth would either be discarded by me or washed.

Eddie’s playtime reward was not a soft toy:  Martin Grime is on record that it was a tennis ball.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Did  Kate Mccann know what Eddie did with the toy at the time ?

Faith, Stephen, let us NOT get diverted on to another topic. please.

THe main thing is how did those folders get there?  Who placed them there?

Ccat is NOT relevant.  We all saw that Martin Grime was mistaken in thinking that Eddie alerted to CCat.  He did not.  He alerted to  a pile of something, which looks like folders, on top orf the counter.

Furthermore Ccat has 'proved his innocence' in that Eddie failed to alert to him at least twice.

The important thing is

Who does that pile of folders/ papers belong to?

Where did the cadavar, or whatever, scent come from originally?

Eddie was supposed to be a well trained cadaver dog, Stephen.  Playing with what could have been evidence was not a good idea.  Any evidence would likely have been destroyed.  Or at the very least, contaminated.

I don't know who edited that video, but anything after the unedited version would have destroyed any credibility.

Martin Grime simply expected too much from Eddie.

That's why I would like to see other examples of dogs being used to test/check objects.

I have seen some on Police programs, customs checks, etc., and on other various programs.

I will do some further research later after work to see whether there are further examples of dogs being used and hbow the handlers do their jobs.

This is a good idea, Stephen.  I would like to know what you find.  But as far as  have seen, each dog has it's own way of marking an alert, and this never involves picking up anything.

This all so unfair to Eddie.  He was perfect for running around disaster scenes and finding injured or even dead people.

You can teach an old dog new tricks, but you can't teach it to forget the tricks it has already learned.

Why didn't Eddie alert to pork found in the bin? Answer the question!

Just watched it, and I am at a loss.  Can you tell me what I should have seen?

I sometimes don't explain myself very well because I am reluctant to engage in what could seem like convoluted explanations.  But please try.  I actually want to know what you saw that I didn't.

I don't think I can cope with this.  Can I do it tomorrow?

It never ceases to amaze me of just how little we all individually know.  But I have had a long day elsewhere.

When Eddie barked after sniffing the top of the sideboard, why didn't Martin Grime open the cupboard door immediately?

We have no idea who put Cuddle Cat into the cupboard.

We have no indication why CC was put in the cupboard.

We have no idea when CC was put into the cupboard, which is the most important point.
