I think it illustrates the folly of fabricating a case assembled on personal bias and the corruption of official documents and videos which have been given into the wrong hands.
Peoples’ opinions are too easily manipulated by, among other things, cynical and dishonest editing of video footage.
For example the insinuation that the shot of Eddie barking furiously behind the couch is indicative that Madeleine’s body had lain there, is endorsed by omitting the reality that forensic evidence has proved that not to be the case.
That it remains one of the keystones of the fatuous case against Madeleine’s parents … illustrates the power of misrepresentation as embodied in these edited videos.
And from those initial misundertandings or aspects of disinformation, selected leaks (many of which were garbled anyway), tabloid inaccuracies / inventions, came a certain "research group" that cherry-picks to present an even more garbled version of the little that is known. Not to mention a certain person who has spent thousands of hours "educating" the masses via videoclips of selected items that even she must know aren't correct.
I have never had a problem with anyone who had genuine questions or doubts. I
do have an issue with people perpetuating myths / half-truths and inventions as troo facts.
The case in question concerns Madeleine, but it could be anyone, anywhere. And, one day, it might just be one of these people who are so keen to construct a case against the parents who may well find themselves with the boot on the other foot.
