You never cease to amaze either. Detectives are very interested in all these anomalies. Moving doors, doors slamming shut, curtains whooshing open, windows opening but not being used. Tanner not being seen. Gerry seeing Madeleine on top of the covers. Kate seeing her under the covers. Is this poltergeist IV.

Yes many people tell me I am rather amazing, thank you for confirming it.

Don't know if you missed it or not, but the real detectives are setting out for PDL days from now.  Don't think whooshing curtains or slamming doors are the reason for their proposed visit.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

They will understand how draughts can slam doors and whoosh curtains .... even if some on here cannot.

They will understand the limits of the perifery of vision .... even if some on here cannot.

They will understand the many reasons for the window being open but aparantly not used .... even if some on here cannot

They will understand that a child may start under the covers but be on top of them later .... even if some on here cannot

And the door positions will be clues for them.  They will understand that .... even if SOME on here cannot

Sorry Pfinder, but you are clutching at straws

It is a variation on Occam's Razor, if there are 2 explanations, one simple and logical and the other that however convoluted absolves the McCanns of the slightest blame, the second is always chosen.

McCanns Razor, once you've ignored the likely possibilities then whatever the McCanns claim, no matter how improbable, can only be the truth.

It never ceases to amaze the petty points latched onto by those who have determined to find fault with every utterance, every move or even the clothing worn by their chosen patsies.

With reference to Dr Kate McCann and the ‘slamming door’

If the door did not slam shut … so what?

If the door did slam shut ... so what?

The matter of utmost importance here is that Madeleine was missing.

so what..............so what......its what told her maddie had been abducted...

its what sent her running to the others ....leaving twins ...curtains flapping window open....it is her words ...not mine ... why would she lie ...cough cough...you tell me,

“I did my check about ten o’clock and went in through the sliding patio doors, and I just stood actually, and I thought, uh, all quiet. And to be honest, I might have been tempted to turn round then, but I just noticed that the door, the bedroom door where the three children were sleeping, was open much further than we’d left it.
I went to close it to about here, and then as I got to here, it suddenly . . . slammed, and as I opened it, it was then, that I just thought I’ll just look at the children.
I see Sean and Amelie in the cot . . . .
I was looking at Madeleine’s bed which is here, and it was dark and I was looking and I was thinking is that, is that Madeleine or is that the bedding and I couldn't quite make her out, and it sounds really stupid now, but at the time I was just thinking I didn’t want to put the light on because I didn't want to wake them,  and literally as I went back in, the curtains of the bedroom which were drawn, [demonstrates with both forearms together]  that were closed, “wheesh’  like a gust of wind kind of blew them open.
And cuddle cat was still there, and the pink blanket was still there. I knew straight away that, err, she’d been . . . taken, yer know.”   [1]

If Dr McCann had simply said that she had walked into the apartment, gone to the childrens' bedroom, looked in and noticed Madeleine's bed was empty, after ascertaining Madeleine was not present in the apartment, she ran to the Tapas restaurant and raised the alarm, what conspiracy theory would you have manufactured from that?

That is exactly what she said in her first statement shortly, I would assume, before she realised that the open shutters/window would have already been open and visible at Oldfield's check.

Ah yes ... the absolutely concise verbatim statements; neither recorded on video or audio but recorded by a trained stenographer instead? ... surely?? ... oh no, wait a minute ...

The very same statements that have never officially been challenged by the McCanns themselves.

Why should the Drs McCann justify anything to people who do not matter in the slightest?

The search for Madeleine is taking place because the PJ and the Met have scrutinised everything and decided there is merit in looking for her. Oh ... and they have gone out of their way to assure us that Madeleine's parents are of no interest to them ... just in case there were people who thought otherwise.

That there are people who just cannot rationalise that fact perhaps because of a deep seated prejudice is a pity.

Furthermore it can be easily proven that the main fingerprint position evidence which supposedly proves KM opened the window, is in fact a photo of the lounge patio door.
I see no reason to doubt her account, that she found the window already open, and that the bedroom door did slam.

In the PJ photo it looks like the adult bedroom to balcony door hinges on both sides - I had a flat with a door just like it.

Back to the child bedroom door, I am agreeing with you completely Sadie, that it did slam exactly as KM describes.

A draught which is insufficient to slam a well open door may be easily sufficient to slam an almost shut door.
Basic physics - exactly in accord with KM's description - it didn't slam while well open, it slammed only after being placed in the almost shut position.

The GNR officer's palm print was found on one or other of those patio doors, suggesting he was experimenting to see if Madeleine could have slid them open.

Also his fingerprint was on the edge of the sliding lounge balcony door. The forensics photo of that print was later mistakenly taken to be a photo of a KM print on the edge of the sliding child bedroom window, and that is how KM got wrongly accused of opening the window.
But back to the slamming child bedroom door, I do not see the advantage gained by making such a thing up.
I think she is telling the truth - the door did slam.

If the door hadn't slammed Kate herself says she would only have pulled it to. She needed it to slam to give her a reason to look in the room and find Madeleine missing.
