John can we have a Shrien/Anni Dewani thread please. This is a fascinating case and a very important court ruling is due on 3rd Deccember, does he get extradicted back to South Africa or not?

I consider that this is a MOJ case in as much as Shrien Dewani is attempting to avoid justice by manipulating his medical 'conditions' to avoid answering in court the charges laid before him. Anni was a beautiful innocent just like Sheila Caffel and in my opinion her husband must be made to return to South Africa and face trial!

Thank's John.  8((()*/

Its a good job the MPs in this country havent anything to do with justice decisions after the mess they have made of the Sgt Nightingale saga.
Trying to put pressure on the Attorney General to intervene in a live case just because the guy is a soldier is an insult to the rest of the population who put their faith in our justice system.Shame on them I say.

It"s going to be a busy week for Simon Mckay what with the Bamber case and the Danny Nightingale sentence appeal as well. How on earth will McKay be able to do justice to both cases if the full hearings are on the same day ie Thursday 29 November?

I am sure McKay has an extensive staff of qualified people in his 'chambers' ... I believe she is called a cleaning lady!

I would have thought that he would have wanted to deal with them both personally.  As you say he can always farm it out to another advocate or even a QC if the budget allows.

I haven't had much time recently to post but I must say I am really looking forward to next weeks court hearings which will hopefully put the Bamber case to rest for ever and give the family the peace they so deserve.  I have no doubt whatsoever that both the European Court and the Royal Courts will do the right thing in the end and bring this monumental fiasco to its rightful conclusion.   8@??)(

Totally agree Sandra and good to see you back again.

There can only be one outcome given the evidence.  Justice will prevail.

Don't forget everyone...as if you would!   @)(++(*

The Grand Chamber of the European Court will make a final decision on the whole life tariff issue tomorrow.  Here's hoping sense will prevail and that June, Nevill, Sheila, Daniel and Nicholas get justice.

Very funny. From the look of his website it could well be the cleaner. Is he doing the European Court case too - thought it was someone else?

In the court below Bamber was represented Mr B. Woods, a lawyer practising in Leeds with Cousins Tyrer Solicitors, assisted by Mr R. Horwell QC and Mr L. Hindmarsh, counsel. according to the website of the European Court

There wont be a judgment tomorrow - it will be reserved to a future date. It may be on the ECtHR webiste live - many cases are broadcast live on the web.
