I would go with the CEOP report in preference to tabloid reports.

This person and no doubt many like him seem to be able to embark on worldwide excursions without let or hindrance … and when they are caught the penalties seem to be a joke.

I am still very much of the opinion that he is well worth interrogating … he hasn’t only committed the offences detailed on the International Arrest Warrant … he has been active since before 2001.

So are we to believe this repeat offender went 8-9 years without re-offending anywhere?

I think this man has been offending for many years before his first prosecution and I believe he never stopped from then onwards.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Any idea what this Roderick McDonald/Roderick William Robinson,s yacht is called....?

Wouldn’t you think some enterprising journalist from the local paper would have been down to interview the neighbours to find out where his yacht was berthed and syndicate photographs?

Did he actually own a yacht which was his own or was it a part ownership ... which could open other doors?  Did someone lend him a yacht ... again that could be interesting?  Or did he hire one as and when?

I daresay all will be revealed in the fullness of time.

I think he is a lot of things but fortunately not a Mirror reader or he would have packed his little knapsack and taken himself off to pastures new five months ago … although I think he was rapidly running out of options for somewhere to drop anchor as his depravity seems to have been catching up with him.

It will be interesting to see where the arrest of this man may take the detectives investigating Madeleine's case, and if they are able to pin down information on other thoroughly evil people in the process ... that will be all to the good.

“The British police want to question them as part of their line of investigation based on a sexual predator breaking into various houses.”

This shift in the investigation could mean Briton Raymond Hewlett, a convicted child rapist who was living on the Algarve when Maddie went missing, could once again in the frame.

The monster went to his death refusing to speak to investigators hunting for Madeleine McCann after he was sensationally linked to her disappearance.

The evil sex beast had been staying in their converted truck at a camping site near Praia da Luz at the time three-year-old Madeleine disappeared as her parents Kate and Gerry dined out with friends at the Ocean Club holiday complex.

British cops are also hunting another convicted child sex attacker Roderick Robinson, 77.

Our sister paper the Sunday Mirror revealed this week how vile Robinson was extradited from Portugal in 2010 to Australia where he was sentenced for abusing an eight-year-old girl.

Sources say he could have vital information concerning a paedophile ring in the Algarve while he was living there which could in turn be linked to Madeleine’s disappearance.

Scotland Yard detectives have previously spoken of their belief that a serial sex attacker on the Algarve could be behind the case.

They are linking 18 incidents when a male intruder broke into British families’ holiday villas between 2004 and 2010 and sexually assaulted nine girls with three near-misses.

One of the victims, a ten-year-old girl, was assaulted in Praia da Luz two years before Madeleine vanished from the resort.

The man wanted in the UK in connection with the disappearance of Madeliene McCann this afternoon was jailed for 18 months for possession of child pornography.

Roderick Macdonald, who was living in an apartment in Sannat, admitted to being in possession of pornographic photographs of children found on his laptop.

On Tuesday, the 77-year-old convicted paedophile consented to his extradition when he appeared before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli, a day after he was arrested by the police in Gozo.

Madeleine McCann has been missing since May 2007 after disappearing during a

family holiday in Portugal.

The magistrate jailed him for 18 months.

The Mirror has reported that the man told people he met in Sannat that he has a Maltese mother.

Does extradition trump a prison sentence, or will he serve that before extradition ?

I think he will have to serve the sentence first, and then be extradited immediately on release.

If he cooperates I think the police will be able to arrange to interview him while he is serving his sentence.

I can just imagine this lardy paedophile slipping effortlessly through the window to 5a, at the age of 70.

Yes, no doubt someone will have calculated the maximum girth that would pass through the window.

I don't believe for one second that he was involved in Madeleine's disappearance. However, his computer may contain  few useful links & he may also be prepared to name a few associates. That, in itself, could possibly get a few more of these vile beasts off the streets.

Provided they can be charged convicted and sentenced of course or had you something a trifle more reactionary in mind?

That is the sum of it, Misty.

I too think his usefulness may lie in something or someone he knows rather than being directly implicated himself.

I find it interesting that it is only within the past few months that a European Arrest Warrant has been issued for him (according to the media).

Perhaps that may be allied to information retrieved during the present investigation … the timing appears to be right.
