Prints can be found on paper like a ransom note.

The Sirchie Aerosol Spray is the most widely used formulation of ninhydrin in the world. It has developed prints over two-years old in actual cases and 50-year-old prints in experimental cases. Ninhydrin is packaged in an aerosol can for increased shelf life and convenient field or laboratory use.

One of the most overlooked forms of physical evidence at the crime scene is impression evidence. This is largely due to a lack of specific training in the proper search, collection and preservation techniques and procedures.

Locating and recovering obvious impressions from mud, dirt or blood are usually accomplished, but dust prints found in many indoor crime scenes are ofter overlooked and many times damaged or obliterated.

By using the Electrostatic Dust Print Lifter Kit, prints left in the dust of a floor, light soil from a criminal's shoes, or impressions made on overlooked areas such as dusty walls or doors can be recovered.

The ESP900 Electrostatic Dust Print Lifter consists of a high voltage power supply/control unit, a nickel-plated steel ground plane and a metalized lifting medium. Older electrostatic models required the use of two lifting mats—one positively charged and one negatively charged. Our latest electrostatic lifter uses only one metalized plastic sheet and a metal ground plane. As high voltage is applied to the lifting mat, it takes on a negative charge and the ground plane becomes positive. Any dust present under the mat will take on a positive charge and will then be attracted to the negatively charged collection mat. A dust print that is transferred to the lifting mat will appear as a precise mirror image of the original print and lifts made from rough-surfaced floor tile or irregular flooring of any kind are facilitated using this method.

The killer had JonBenet in the basement for hours, He pick her up from her bedroom and took her to the basement, undress her and redress her. If he did not have gloves on all the time, this tool could have been used to find the fingerprints left on her skin. We can find prints up to a week on dead bodies.

Our lab tool was design to do this and this is a picture of it.
CBC Find finger prints on dead bodies and live skin too.

With our ALS lights, we can use many colors of light to find crime scene items left by the killer.

We use many types of these.

Forensics Source Latent Prints Feather Duster, White
Need the right brush for dusting for latent prints at a crime scene? Fluffy Marabou feather duster print brushes are ideal for large areas, and are highly recommended for use with Forensics Source Fluorescent Powder fingers.
•Soft feather tips pick up large amounts of powder and distributes it with minimal clean-up
•Feather dusters apply powder in a thinner, more controlled layer than other types of applicators
•5" wooden handle
•4" long feathers
•Color: White

Our new light - ALS

 More information:

The Polilight® PL400 is a state-of-the-art forensic light source, designed for operation at the scene of crime or within the laboratory. Its design is based upon the highly successful Polilight models PL6, PL10 and the top of the range PL500.

 Versatile and flexible
The Polilight PL400 features a special internal filter wheel which holds up to 20 independent filters, allowing for a versatile array of output bands. The Standard Model includes the most commonly requested filters used on site at the crime scene, while the Lab Model includes additional filters for added versatility at the crime scene or in the lab.

 Powerful
The powerful 400-Watt Metal Halide lamp makes even the dimmest evidence appear bright and crisp. The bulb has a long life, at over 1,000 lamp hours.

 Easy to Control
The PL400 features an internal microprocessor control and stepper motor filter wheel, which makes filter selection literally as easy as the touch of a button. In addition, the PL400 includes a special RS232 cable which allows the unit to be operated remotely via a PC or laptop computer. The unique control software allows the user to specify the application, rather than the independent wavelengths. The software will automatically switch to the optimal light wavelength and suggest, when required, the color of the filter or goggles that are needed to visualize and photograph any resulting evidence.

 Each Polilight PL400 includes:
• One Polilight PL400 unit
• Two meter liquid light guide
• Two meter power cable
• RS232 Serial Cable for connecting the PL400 to a computer
• Hard carrying case
• Three sets of goggles red, orange and yellow
• Instruction Manual

The Standard model includes the following nine output bands: 350nm UV, 415nm, 450nm, LP530nm, 490nm, 505nm, 530nm, White and Half White

 The Lab model includes the following twenty output bands: 350nm UV, 415nm, 430nm, 450nm, LP530nm, 470nm, 480nm, 490nm, 505nm, 515nm, 530nm, 550nm, 560nm, LP560nm, 570nm, 590nm, 620nm, 650nm, White and Half White

If you ask me what brush I use the most and like the most and find the most fingerprints, I will show you this one. Its the best.

Fingerprint brush:

We use many types, but this one works very well with powers.

Zephyr Dusting Brush Made of Fiberglass -

No coarse fibers. No natural oils. Becomes softer with use. Will outwear regular fingerprint brushes many times over.

The ZEPHYR® brush is, without question, the finest brush ever developed for use in applying latent print powder to dust for latent fingerprints. The 6 1/2" long brush consists of thousands of fiber bundles, each being composed of over a hundred individual treated-glass filaments. The diameter of the glass filaments is a fraction of the diameter of regular hair fibers used in other fingerprint brushes, resulting in a brush with unsurpassed working qualities. The outstanding characteristics of the ZEPHYR® brush are its long life, capacity to pick up and retain large amounts of fingerprint powder, and the fact that the filament ends become softer with use. Use one ZEPHYR® brush for black powder and one for silver/gray powder.

Since 1956, the ZEPHYR® brush is the ORIGINAL and still the best fiberglass fingerprint dusting brush available. Do not be misled by imitators who may claim superiority for their product.

ZEPHYR® is a registered trademark of the ZEPHYR BRUSH COMPANY.

 Treat Your Zephyr® Brush Right!
• Keep the brush in its plastic container where it will not rub against other objects in your dusting kit

• Keep your powder in a deep, wide-mouthed container to keep the fibers from being bent on the side of the container when being inserted

• Do not jam the brush into packed powder (shake the jar to loosen the powder first)

• Do not allow the brush to become damp with water, dew, or condensed moisture from cold bottles or cans

• Do not use the Zephyr brush on greasy surfaces

• Do not rotate the brush by rolling the handle between the palms of both hands as the force of rotation can be excessive, causing matting and tangling of the fibers.
