The blood was already in the silencer when it was found. I don't believe it was contaminated accidently or otherwise. IMO

The contamination of the silencer was down to the killer and his attempts to clean it.  Another point which one should remember is that Jeremy's fingerprints should have been all over the silencer but weren't.  The silencer was therefore wiped clean and there is only one reason why that happened!
A malicious prosecution for a crime which never existed. An exposé of egregious malfeasance by public officials.
Indeed, the truth never changes with the passage of time.
