There are other eye witness statements that are unresolved.  For example a couple with a small child seen lurking around Lagos Marina in the early hours of the morning of 4th May.
That can be dismissed in respect of a credible 'eye witness' given the location, it was uncorroborated (unlike the Smith sighting) and the fact Brooks disappeared.
Besides, it was 6am, hardly the early hours.
But more grist to the mill of reasonable doubt for both sides to expolit.

It was 5.55amand pretty early for a man, woman and child to be seen out and about.  Brooks disappeared did he?  Probably bumped off by the child abductor and fed to the pigs then ;-)

Either Gerry was seen carrying his daughter through toen and the witnesses were thoroughly credible of he wasn?t and they weren?t.  If it was the first then he would have been arrested and charged.  The fact that he wasn?t suggests that the reliability and credibility of the witnesses statements were questionable.

In a legal sense maybe. But, even if it wasn't enough to arrest, it's still easy enough to reach the conclusion it was Gerry. When you add up the details I've listed. Such as Gerry disappearing after the alarm was raised prior to 10pm, & that any Smithman abductor would have to change Maddie's pyjamas.

All I did was ask you if you've ever listened to yourself at all. But t was just too much for Eleanor that I would mock her favourite Mccann believer.

At the same time today you've also been arguing that the Smiths didn't positively identify him beyond doubt. That there were problems with their testimony.

For all the reasons I stated earlier this evening there is no good reason to place any serious reliance on the evidence given by the Smiths therefore it is easy to dismiss their claims that the man may have been Gerry, that the child may have been wearing long sleeve pjs, that the man may have been wearing buttoned trousers.  Presented as evidence it would be laughed out of court and there must be a reason for that.  What is that reason?

We're not in court. But what I have proven here is that Gerry had time to have been seen by the Smiths. It's possible to ascertain it from the evidence within files. There's nothing in there to support your theory that Maddie was bundled into a getaway car though. I can't find anything to support that.

Oh, is that what it's all about?  Well I never.  Poor soul.  Perhaps we ought to feel sorry for him.  I'll give it a go.

Or you aren't right in the head.  But that goes without saying.

More rudeness from Eleanor.

There?s nothing to prove Madeleine was dumped on wasteground and then dropped into a bin.  Nor that she was beaten to death by her mother.  Not one single piece of evidence supports this, nothing, nada, zilch.

That's only theory. But it's possible that happened based on, the alarm being raised before 10pm, Gerry suggesting everyone split up, him disappearing & then being seen by the Smiths. Added to that that the only evidence Madeleine was abducted is the Smith sighting, where Maddie, in the wrong pyjamas, wasn't looking too well.
