Gerry put the time the alarm was raised at 10:13. This is set in stone now because Gerry wouldn't lie about anything. He was very specific that he sent Kate to check at 10:03. He wouldn't have given such a precise time if he wasn't absolutely certain of it & he wouldn't imagine Kate took 10 minutes when she was by her own account very brief. So that's it now. We have to accept his times & ignore ALL the evidence the alarm was raised earlier.

Matt must have gone to reception at 10:05, when Kate hadn't even raised the alarm yet. Either that or Gerry lied.

In Matt's rogatory he was going to put the time before 10pm but said he believed it was 10pm because Rachel said so.

I'm only stating the details as found within the statements. I'd like to hear from forum members what time they believe the alarm was raised with evidence to support it. I can find evidence the alarm was raised before 10pm & evidence Kate sat on her arse while Gerry disappeared somewhere. But there's nothing to support Gerry's claim the alarm was raised at 10:13 however.

If we accept Matt's first account, that Kate left the table at 9:50, she only took a minute or two to search the apartment, so that's 9:52. Then, 11 minutes later, it's 10:03. Which is around the time the Smiths would have encountered the Gerrylike figure. It's self explanatory really. When you join the dots.

All I have to do is post one comment and it triggers a torrent of spamcrap, it?s a new talent I have recently developed.  At least it?s keeping the forum from being completely dead even if the only thing that?s keeping it alive is one sad little woman h8er?s dogged determination to convince us he?s right and we?re wrong.

Why don't you believe Gerry? The alarm was raised at 10:13. He wouldn't lie about anything, because, if he lied about one detail, then it's not unreasonable to believe he was less than truthful about the rest.

Oh, is that what it's all about?  Well I never.  Poor soul.  Perhaps we ought to feel sorry for him.  I'll give it a go.

Reply    ?Yeah, it wasn?t more than that, but, erm, yeah, (inaudible) Jane having to relieve me (inaudible) Kate left the table.  Written here that ?There was nothing significant about her leaving?, I think, I think we?d actually discussed that it wasn?t, it wasn?t a clear moment in my mind or certainly not like eleven months on, and again, you know, and again I don?t know what, what my original statement said, but certainly the comment that ?The table was in good humour and there was nothing different about the nature or the mood there or the fact that anyone had got up and left?.  I don?t think anyone else got up and left after my return apart from, apart from Kate.  Yeah, I?d say ?I think it would have been about ten o?clock?, I didn?t have a watch.  There was a point at this time where some, does it say here, that somebody around the table asked what the time was and I think Rachael asked and they answered that it was about ten o?clock.  That is probably worth saying, because I think, you know, there?s a little bit of, you know, erm, best, best estimate on some of the other times, there was, around the time of ten, there was actually somebody announced at the table it was about ten o?clock?.

He only said it was 10pm because Rachel said so. But check out Matt & Fiona's statements, the alarm is raised soon after Russell got his steak. It didn't take Russell nearly 15 minutes to eat half a steak.

Rachael asked what the time was.

They had to reheat his steak.

Actually they cooked him a fresh steak -

Reply    ??Kate left the table, there was nothing significant about her leaving, but I think it was a similar time to my meal arriving?.  Oh yeah, yeah, I suppose that?s a point, erm.  There it might say ?The Tapas staff kindly re-cooked my main course?, because I got back at twenty-one forty-five, but the food was probably, you know, the best part of ten minutes later before I got it?.

How long to cook a steak? Unless you're incinerating it, less than 5 minutes.
