Just to be clear - the times specifically mentioned in the Smiths? statements are 9.55 / 10pm.  None puts it earlier or later than this.

The fact remains, irrespective of its origins, intentions and motivations, it's still the only unresolved eye witness statement. That makes it legally significant. It's doesn't matter how we got to this point.

There are other eye witness statements that are unresolved.  For example a couple with a small child seen lurking around Lagos Marina in the early hours of the morning of 4th May.

How did they know, precisely, the time? Did they look at their watches after passing this man, do you think?
The Smith sighting was at 10:03. I know this because Mr Mccann did look at his watch.

And then there is the sighting by Trevor Francis (no not that one!)  He was 85% sure that he saw Madeleine McCann on the island of Margharita.  85% sure, that makes it even more credible than the Smtihs, no?  Not only that but he saw the fleck in her eye AND he was wearing his glasses at the time AND he didn?t wait 3 weeks to report it to the police, surely this knocks the Smith sighting into a cocked hat?!  How can he be wrong when he was 85% sure?

It's a wonder why VS has never put your ridiculous conspiracy theory under any scrutiny? Instead, she's finally scrutinising some witness statements after 19 years & trying to disprove the blindingly obvious.

I'm not really trying to do anything, other than state the case details, which are, Gerry goes to check on Maddie, Maddie disappears. Gerry disappears, then, Gerry is seen with Maddie, & Maddie is never seen again. These are details contained within the case files. I couldn't find anything about gangs of predatory paedophiles dragging Maddie out of the window & bundling her into a waiting getaway vehicle though.

At the same time today you've also been arguing that the Smiths didn't positively identify him beyond doubt. That there were problems with their testimony.
