Kemi just said that lives are being lost because people are making the wrong decisions due to the fear of being called racist!

Did anyone on here know about this?  It certainly didn't make the headlines of the paper I usually read, nor was it headline news on the News at 10, nor were there mass riots by the Kurdish community in Bristol as a result of this despicable act.  Weird, I wonder why not?

That?s because there?s no mileage in this atrocity for the likes of Tommy Robinson and his band of thugs to whip up a riot about it.  You will never hear Farage or Lowe getting in a cold hard rage about attacks on innocent Kurdish men.  And those white middle class immigrant lovers on the left just don?t have the requisite amount of violent fury to set light to cars and buses and smash shop windows which, had they done so might just have made the front pages.  Two tier media?

Under UK law you may legally carry a folding knife with a maximum 3" blade 'without any need for valid reason'. Obviously brandishing it unless in the event of unexpected self defence would be a crime. It is illegal to carry a weapon explicitly for self defence but there are several types of defensive weapon & any weapon is lawful in the event of a home invasion. Defence must be reasonable & proportianate & you must stop defending yourself when the threat is over.

Interesting. Firstly female which is unusual for a crime like this, autistic & anorexic like Adam Lanza & right wing which also seems unusual for a girl. I wonder how exactly she became radicalised?

*** Issued on behalf of Counter Terrorism Policing South West ***

A woman who attacked a stranger from behind with an axe in the middle of a summer?s afternoon has received a 19-and-a-half year sentence, including a custodial term of 15-and-a-half years, for attempted murder.

At 1.30pm on Saturday 2 August, the victim had been stood outside of a barber?s shop in East Street, Bedminster, when 18-year-old Alina Burns approached him from behind before striking him in the back of the neck with an axe. She hit him again on the side of the face as he turned to look at his attacker.

Having thankfully only suffered minor injuries, the victim managed to quickly disarm Burns and flagged down two nearby police officers.

Burns, who is white British, was arrested at the scene and was found to be in possession of an axe, a scalpel and two darts.

Burns, of Lynton Road, Bristol, did not know her victim but detectives believe the attack was motivated by her extreme right-wing mindset.

She was initially charged on Monday, 4 August with attempted grievous bodily harm, and three counts of possession of a bladed article.

Following a review of the incident, Counter Terrorism Policing South West took the lead for the investigation on September 8, with support from Avon and Somerset Police, and Burns was further charged with attempted murder.

At a hearing at the Central Criminal Court on Monday 19 January 2026, Burns pleaded guilty to the charges of attempted murder and three counts of possession of a bladed weapon.

The guilty pleas were accepted along with Burns? not guilty plea to the charge of engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts.

At today?s sentencing, the judge ruled that Alina Burns? offences did have a terrorist connection.

Detective Superintendent Sarah Robbins, from Counter Terrorism Policing South West, said: ?It is extremely fortunate that this vicious attack, which saw an innocent man have an axe swung at his neck, didn?t result in the loss of life. Thankfully the victim only suffered minor physical injuries, but I know the events of that afternoon will have a lasting psychological impact on him.

?It is our view that Burns carried out this dreadful attack because of her distorted beliefs and extreme mindset. From everything we know and the evidence we gathered, we believe she targeted the victim because she perceived him to be either an immigrant, an ethnicity which she held contempt for, or both.

?I appreciate that the details of this incident will cause understandable shock and concern in the local community. We are grateful for the support we have received from the public during this investigation, and we will continue to work closely with Avon and Somerset Police to reassure those affected, both the victim and the local community.?

Neighbourhood Policing Superintendent Deepak Kenth, from Avon and Somerset Police, said: ?This is an extremely concerning case in which an 18-year-old woman has carried out a horrific attack on an innocent man in the street as a direct result of the hateful views she harboured.

?Public safety is always a top priority and we?ve worked extremely closely with our colleagues in Counter Terrorism Policing throughout this investigation.

?While incidents of this magnitude are rare, we know the details of this case will cause understandable concern and fear in our communities. We?ll continue to provide all the reassurance we can and want to thank our community leaders for helping to inform the public about the action policing has taken to ensure a dangerous offender is brought to justice.

?United communities are the strongest antidote to hate. We?d urge anyone with concerns or suspicions about someone?s behaviour to contact the police, so we can take any necessary action.?

Bristol crown court heard she had been motivated by neo-Nazi extremism and had been in contact with far-right groups.

Burns had told a man on a dating app to ?kill all Jews and Muslims? and had searched for information online about jihad, the 2024 Southport stabbings, ?Jewish supremacy? and Nazi Germany.

Serena Gates KC, prosecuting, told the court: ?The prosecution case is that the defendant had an extreme rightwing mindset and wanted Jews and Muslims to be killed and non-whites to flee or be expelled from the UK.

?The day before the attack the defendant was watching videos of SS marches and sent an email called ?The dawn of civil war?.?

At a previous hearing, Burns, of Bristol, admitted attempted murder and three charges of having an article with a blade or point ? specifically an axe, a scalpel and two darts.

She had denied a charge of engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to the Terrorism Act.

The crown argued that despite accepting the pleas, there remained a terrorist motivation to the attack, which was accepted by the judge, Mrs Justice Lambert.

Passing sentence, the judge said: ?I have no doubt that you are a dangerous offender and you remain deeply entrenched in your abnormal belief system.

?You communicated with a man on an online dating app in which at one stage you expressed the desire to kill all the Jews and Muslims in Britain, and also carry out a plan where you wished to take all the glory for carrying this out.

?There were Telegram chats with the Patriotic Alternative, a far-right group.?

The judge imposed a custodial sentence of 15-and-a-half years and an additional four-year period on licence.

Andrew Langdon KC, defending, said Burns had experienced a difficult childhood due to her family being made homeless and living in a series of temporary accommodation.

Langdon said that despite both of Burns?s parents being teachers, the teenager had stopped attending full-time education at 14.

She watched Nazi films & said she wanted to kill all the Jews & Muslims.

Parents were teachers but made homeless & lived in temporary accommodation & dropped out of school at 14.

She had quite a lot of increased risk factors.

It seems odd her parents who probably made a decent wage, lost their home & couldn't afford to at least rent somewhere on two teachers income. What were they doing with their money? Something doesn't seem right there so maybe her relationship with her parents was affected.
