Yes, the mass slaughter of animals for food is a big dilemma for most meat eaters, Vertigo.
Just what was Gods plan for the animals? Its a strange cruel world indeed!
Sorry to break it to you but there is no God.

On the contrary, Vertigo, there most certainly is, or an after life at least!
I saw someone once they had passed on, they came back to let me know there was nothing to fear I presume!
So it surely follows that there is some sort of God/s or creator/s too, as it were!

Righto Joe.  Well I am a God and Ghost and Afterlife sceptic so I don?t know what you think you saw but whatever it was, I am deeply sceptical that it proves the existence of an afterlife or of a God.  When we die we will be as we were before we were conceived ie: nothing.  Well not quite nothing because we will leave a physical presence to be disposed of, and of course we will be remembered for a while by our nearest and dearest until they too kick the bucket. Many of us will leave an online footprint, some of which will be anonymous (mostly the stuff we?re not so proud of) and some of which will be attached to our real names like our FB accounts, but other than that as far as our own personal consciousness is concerned we will be as we were before we were conceived.  Nothing.  I would love to be proven wrong and I guess if I am wrong I will be going to hell to spend all eternity in the company of idiots like Spam.

I will give you my take on things, Vertigo!
I believe we move on to a different dimension as it were, a dimention that cant interact directly with this one.
And we all move on to the next phase as natural as falling off a log as it were, there is no hell or judgement, we just move on and probably reflect on our life and mistakes.
Let me tell you about my experience with the departed, as it were, maybe others have had a similar experience?
I had been out to a shop one early evening in winter, and when I returned it was almost dark as I reversed the van into the drive. In my side mirror I noticed a figure standing at the rear, I reversed back, stopped the van and got out. I looked back into the drive and standing there was a figure that I knew right away, even though he was in shadow form and had no facial features, everything was calm and I had no fear.
We looked at each other, although as I said he had no facial features, if that makes sense?
The shadowy figure did not say anything either, I don't think it is possible to actually talk to those who have passed. Besides, as I said, there was no need for any dialogue, the message was loud and clear, 'there is a an after life and you have nothing to fear'!
After a short while the figure moved to the side and vanished into the shadows!
As I said, it was so natural and calming, my heart never skipped a beat!
I wasn't under the influence of anything at the time I can assure you, and have no mental disorders.
Still, there is no doubt that most people will mock and just say, ach! he was just seeing what he wanted to see after a recent bereavement, and thats fine! But I know what I experienced and it has certainly had an impact on how I view the world now, Vertigo!

OK Joe, I believe you think you saw someone recently departed but I do think grief can play funny tricks on thr brain.  I?ve never been bereaved so I?ll get back to you if and when someone I love comes back with a message from the after life!

Some sort of hallucination brought on by grief you think, Vertigo!
I disagree, I think I would have known the difference to be honest.
But your reaction is quite understandable and expected, most react the same way!

No, not before the incident nor after, Vertigo!
As I said, I wasn't even thinking about him at the time, I was just back from shopping and he was standing there!

If you?ve never had a hallucination before then how can you be sure iit wasn?t a hallucination?  Grief hallucinations are quite common, I think this is the most plausible explanation but I can understand why you would rather believe it was real.  Sorry for your loss.

Thanks, Vertigo! But how can we be sure that they are all hallucinations?
Anyway, don't worry, my loss was almost seven years ago!

Of course, we can?t be absolutely sure they are all grief hallucinations , but really that?s the most plausible and logical explanation.  The fact that these ?visitations? tend to occur when people are newly bereaved and therefore stressed and grieving and possibly suffering from a lack of sleep, rather than years later when the grief is less raw and mental equilibrium has been regained lends plausibility to that theory.  IMO.

Or the departed are only allowed a small window of opportunity to show themselves while transitioning to the next world, Vertigo?

Why would they only be allowed a small window of opportunity?   It doesn?t make sense to me.  I take it you have no fear of death and are looking forward to the next life?

Ha ha! The experience certainly eased my fear of dying, Vertigo, but I am certainly in no hurry to leave this world!
