Why having all agreed that the alarm was raised around 10pm in the aftermath, would Gerry deliberately try and shift the narrative by nealy 15 minutes, thus inevitably drawing suspicion to himself as umpteen witnesses including OC and creche staff would know that time was incorrect? Why is that specific time not even mentioned in Kate?s book? The Smiths had not even come forward a whole week after Madeleine?s disappearance so if he had been seen by them he would have had good reason to feel a bit more relaxed that he had gotten away with it and there would have been no need to invent the 10.03pm alibi of Kate leaving the table. Furthermore had he insisted that the alarm was raised at 10.13pm then that actually gives him ample opportunity in theory to have been seen by the Smiths so trying to suggest it was then effectively destroys his own alibi.
