Aren't the media restricted as regards the witness comments they can publish?
My apologies
Youwere talking about complaints about personal statements to policeandbeng wrongly translated
I suppose none were otherwise no one would have SIGNED when their original statements despite being translated were READ back to them n ENGLISH
you would have to be seriously DUMB to sign a statement read to you i n english which was not what you said, ergo, seeing as the tapasgroup were not DUMB, they agreed and signed ergo the statements are true and valid
And therfore what kate mccann said in her book is utter claptrap
As quoted by g unit
The interview system we’d encountered on our previous visit – questions asked in Portuguese and verbally translated into English; answers given in English, translated into Portuguese and typed up by the interviewing officer – was exhausting for everyone. At the end of the interview the statement prepared by the officer would be printed out in Portuguese, verbally translated, on the spot, into English, and then signed by the interviewee. It was
obvious that at every stage of the process the scope for mistakes in translation and misunderstandings was considerable.
