Actually, it may be relevant.  They would probably have needed a double-buggy AND a single buggy to make the trip to the Millennium achievable at each breakfast and dinner time.

That is possible but then they would be looking for an unconscious/dead infant.  Then again they were looking in large bins too so anything was possible.

It certainly isn't the easiest place to hide someone  to be able to lift the weight of the bed with one arm and to push a child's body underneath and the lay her out so the bed would sit level sounds like a difficult manoeuvre to do on your own.
The other thing is it would be only a very temporary hiding spot for within a day or so the smell would be rather excessive. In a building the odour would accumulate.
The only advantage is that it is a quick and accessible  place and it didn't require carrying a body in a public place.

So given that it is possible, if nothing else the fact that more than one person is on record as having checked beneath the beds rules out any excuse for adding to the suppositions already in existence.
