Yes ,Terribly remiss, however Kate claims she  'knew right away her daughter was abducted'- the window-shutter-curtains- why NOT call the police right away? Why do the supporters not get this?
Did you ever have a gut feeling about something bad but hope against hope that you were wrong?

I think part of the problem is that she follows instructions from her husband too.  On her own she might have rung the police straight away but once Gerry gets involved he could say "hang on a minute let us look around the facility a bit just in case she wandered.

If Kate was still taking notice of Gerry she was a fool in my opinion.

'And she felt a bit nervous about it but Gerry, Gerry had sort of said 'Oh it will be fine', you know. But she was obviously, because it wasn't something she was quite easy with, that's the way it came across, you know, but, but Gerry said, you know, 'It'll be fine. It'll be fine'.

Kate says she knew Madeleine had been taken,  due to the fact the window was open and Madeleine was missing.  However,   even if you believe this has happened you would still search around outside in case you were wrong wouldn't you?  They did ,properly,  they searched the surrounding area in case Madeleine had wandered off,  then when she wasn't found they called the police.   Can you imagine what the Police would have said if they had asked have you searched for her and they had said no?

OK if they think it necessary to check around the outside there has to be a possibility that Madeleine woke and wandered, so I wonder why there are some who say Madeleine could not have got outside on her own?

Kate & Gerry have both stated that there was absolouteley no way she could have got out on her own.

In Kate's own words " I mean I knew straight away she'd, err, been taken, you know"

There was never any doubt in Kate's mind that Madeleine hadn't just wandered off, she knew immediateley that this was an abduction.

So, naturally, she didn't bother to call the police....

Having assessed the situation the GNR officer in charge recognised its seriousness by calling in the PJ ... but his officers still continued the search for Madeleine based on the hope she had merely wandered off on her own and they too checked the apartment for any sign of her.

In my opinion it is risible as a debating point to criticise a search starting at the centre and working out from it as searching around the point from where the child disappeared is nothing more or less than plain and ordinary common sense.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

The GNR weren't psychic ... they turned up at the scene as the result of being informed of a missing child by phone.

The McCann's didn't think Madeleine had got outside by herself.   Though you have to search the surrounding area before calling the police just in case.

There isn't any evidence of abduction. That's the problem.

exactly and that  means   whatever did happen to maddie it was due to lack  of parental supervison

So your child is missing, you "know" straightaway she has been abducted.
First stop then would be to telephone the police; under the circumstances the delegation of the making of that phone call to a third party is an odd ball thing to do . imo
Me? I'd want to make quite sure it was done properly by doing it myself.

How would Matthew know they hadn't called the police?   Jane told someone as soon as she heard Madeleine had disappeared,   she only thought she had seen Madeleine being taken and it was about three quarters of an hour after she had had seen the man carrying a child.
According to Matthew's rogatory, he did.  He was still thinking woke and wandered.

3/4 of an hour after Jane saw the man was when Kate raised the alarm.  The clock moved on before she told anyone.
What's up, old man?

No, any gut feelings I had/have are acted upon.  Sorry to disappoint. So the gut feeling Is the 'circumstantial' evidence then?
Good, cause that helps with Amarlas gut feeling  in so far as he has the right to act on his? yes? no?
