The differences are slight, but significant in my opinion. The M.P.S make no mention of the McCanns being briefed about the case;

Rowley and Redwood were invited to attend a briefing and were informed about the lines of inquiry the PJ would be following, which were different from those of OG.

At the conclusion of that meeting, the group were joined by Kate and Gerry McCann who were briefed on the plans to apply to reopen the investigation.

In my opinion the only evidence of an abduction was provided by the McCann couple. The only evidence that the garden gate and child gate were closed was provided by Kate McCann. They both reported that the window and shutters were open, but their friend who entered the apartment with them didn't see this evidence, so that's unconfirmed.

She noticed that the door to her children's bedroom was completely open, the window was also open, the shutters raised and the curtains open,
