"So DP didn't see because he didn't venture deep enough into the room" was a form of asking you if that is what you were implying with that quote.  Is that the impression DP was trying to portray?

Are we now to take newspaper tittle tattle as verifiable cites, notwithstanding what M Rowley had to say about them.

Mark Rowley:There are odd headlines and odd stories in newspapers on a regular basis and most of those are nonsense.

Why not? It fits in with the general topography as you might say.
Starting with the Jane Tanner sighting then following the not insubstantial trail of breadcrumbs along the highways and byways until ten years later we reach "The Lady in Purple", what do we really have?
An amalgam of gossip, assumptions, inferences and speculation. IMO of course.

At least with the HO insisting that the amount being spent is a secret and SY refusing to discuss what is being investigated then the stories will hopefully stop.

That is weird; who told David Payne about the shutters?

Oh I don't know about that. When I was a young person I was a disciple of The Mad Magazine. Ca 1960 it did a skit on the film "The Alamo" directed by John Wayne. It depicts Wayne saying [approximatively]"To produce a film that is historically accurate requires a lot of research time and money, so we did the next best thing: we lied".

Och ... I don't know if I would go so far as to say Amaral and co "did the next best thing:" but in my opinion he certainly left quite a bit of clearing up behind for the present Portuguese and British investigators to catch up with.

How come he missed out on following through on the abundance of evidence which has been driving them since Madeleine's case was reopened?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

That is weird; who told David Payne about the shutters?

If he was told 'on the way up' the only person who could have told him was Kate. He went into the room far enough to see Madeleine's empty bed, but didn't look at the window;

I noticed that the bed was empty that Madeleine was sleeping in.

Are you saying that this evidence was in the possession of the PJ before October 2007? If so, do you have any cites to support your opinion?

Do I need to remind you that Rebelo was coordinator of the case for longer than Amaral. Shouldn’t he shoulder some of the blame if there was any ‘clearing up’ to do ‘ ?

Seeing as no alleged abductor can be found some one has to take the can.

SY are now in the embarrassing position that they have spent a small fortune on a missing girl on the presumption that she was abducted by AN Other yet not a scrap of evidence has ever been produced to support this theory. They are now refusing to disclose how much more public money has been allocated to them...the cover-up has begun imo.

AFAIAC the only circumstantial evidence relates to the woke, wandered and was then abducted theory, everything else is pure fantasy imo.

There is no evidence, even circumstantial, for woke, wondered and abducted.

Yes there is.  Two specially trained scent dogs independently followed her fresh trail from the apartment, around the block where it mysteriously stopped at the car park opposite mini reception.  I for one cannot think of another explanation for such a compelling piece of evidence.
