Title: Weather, Tides, Moon etc near PdL around the time of the abduction.
Post by: sadie on July 24, 2013, 10:51:39 PM
Weather tides Moon, natural light etc near Pdl

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO POST ALL FOUR SECTIONS BEFORE COMMENTING.  Thankyou

FACTS

Part 1  Sunset and the Moon

2nd May 2007 ~ Full Moon

Sunrise, 3rd May 2007 was 6.38am West

Sunset, 3rd May 2007 was 8.25pm West

The days were lengthening by about one minute in the morning and one minute in the evening, so the 4th May had sunrise at 6.37am West

Sadies thoughts:  There was a full moon on May 2nd 2007.  So the night would be a little lighter than normal on May 3rd.

However like the sun, the moon rises in the east and sets in the west.  It takes a somewhat similar route across the skies.  I am not sure of moon rise time, but had it risen, it would have been low in the eastern sky at 9.15 pm and at 10pm.

i)  Interestingly 5A car park had high trees to its eastern side.
ii)  The little cove (beach) that ?bundleman might have been walking towards (Smiths sighting) also had high rocks to its eastern side.

As the moon would have been low in the sky, neither place would have been getting any direct moonlight.   They would both be dark spots

Part 2

Tides:

3rd May:

High 3.35am West ........Low 9.33am West

High 3.49pm West ........Low 9.53pm West

Temperature at 10pm = 60*F (16*C) on 3rd May  [but gusty]

4th May
High 4.07am West ........Low 10.02am West

All the above conditions were for nearby Lagos  ( about 3.5 miles away)

Sadies thoughts:
Seems, to me that ?bundleman had just missed the best time for sailing i.e. with  the tide gently going out and in full darkness apart from some indirect moonlight

Was this because JT's witnessing the abduction frightened the wits out of the getaway car driver, so he did not connect with bundleman? The timing would have been perfect at 9.15 – 9.30 pm ... full darkness and tide about to turn , but still gently going out

All the above conditions were for Lagos (3.5 miles away approx)

Part 3

All the following conditions were for Faro airport  which is about 50+ miles away (80+km). The airport is right by the sea front

Barometric pressures

2nd May Barometric pressure was dropping quite rapidly (it seems to me) - I have little knowledge in this area - does this mean a storm/poor sea conditions?

1014hPa (29.95 Hg) at midnight, dropping to 1006hPa (29.7 Hg) at 5.30pm
Wind speeds: Ave.27km/hr.....Max. 39km/hr
Visibility: 10km, Cloudy early evening. Temp at 10pm: 57*F (14*C)

3rd May Barometric pressure rising

1009 hPa (29.8Hg) at midnight, rising to 1013hPa (29.92 Hg) at 10.00pm

Wind speeds: ave. 16 km/hr..... Max. 30km/hr [20.1 mph]

Visibility: 10Km, Clear sky. Temp at 10pm: 60*F (16*C)

4th May Barometric Pressure rising

1013 hPa (29.8 Hg) at midnight, rising to 1016 hPa (30Hg) in evening, and still steadily rising through the 5th May

Dont know whether any of the above means anything to you? Ocean sailors might understand the statistics better than i do.

Part 4

My analysis

With my limited understanding it seems as though:

May 2nd would not have been too good a day for the abduction, because with the falling barometer the sea might have been a bit rough for a small boat to leave the tiny rocky cove after dark.

If the route out was via a small boat from that rocky beach/ cove, then the best time to leave would have been just before low tide on May 3rd , when the tides were slowing ready for the changing tides.  The best time for the tides would be a little before 9.53 pm, whilst it was dark with the moon hardly risen.

This was especially so,  as both pertinent places (OC and the little beach) had high light barriers to their eastern ends … so no direct moonlight at either place at that time.

The abduction was about 9.15 = 9.20 pm.  Perfect timing, both for tidal conditions and darkness imo.

And also for the pick up boat to sail on to the disembarkation port, to arrive just before dawn …

…. I have made an educated guess at that port.  Later, maybe……

An abduction on May 4th might have been considered dicy, because holiday makers often change their routine on the last evening of a holiday

In my opinion these guys knew the McCanns routine, they thought about the weather, the tides, the moon, the necessary sailing time to reach port by dawn   and about not doing it on the final day.

Seems pretty professional to me.

Of course if they were not using a little boat from that rocky beach, then the whole equation changes..........!!

I am sorry, I am having terrible connection problems.

Am only connected about 5% - 10% of the time.  All the above were copied and pasted from a word document I produced and quickly posted when all five lights were up on my modem

Sometimes only have three lights up

There is nothing fantastic, unsourced or irrational about Sadie's above post.  It is an excellent piece of information and well worthy of debate.

It is well within the bounds of possibility that Madeleine was taken away from PdL by boat.

And this is another thing i don't understand about the abduction.

What was the purpose of taking her?

For a childless couple somewhere? Ok, but wouldn't said childless couple look a bit odd going about their daily lives with a new 3 year old matching Madeleine's description turning up out of nowhere? Wouldn't she have to go to a doctors, a dentist, a school, be registered somewhere where she could be recognised?

For a Paedo ring? Ok, but by definition wouldn't a "ring" require more than one child? And if they wanted a 3 year old child would they still want a 10 year old child? Wouldn't there be more cases like this where 3 year olds are getting taken from their beds to replace the children getting older?

And bringing boats into it and getaway drivers, it all sounds a bit James Bond.

I couldn't agree more.  And I've always thought that removal by boat was an extremely feasible scenario.

It should be noted that Amaral did not dismiss it either.

Yes - without a doubt as he's got a conviction to prove it.    I thought everyone knew that.

The Maritime Police did its job under the direction of the MP.
On the 8th of May Mrs McCann reported a "strong vision" of Madeleine on a boat, by a friend of a friend of a familiar.
Nevertheless Prof Harrison, who proved he's a patient man when he examined the hair machine report of a missing persons hunter, dismissed any rational boat hypothesis after reading the Maritime Police's report.

So in addition to bundleman, spottyman, moustacheman, we now have oceanographer astronomer  and meteorologistman?

Did they wait for the right conditions then? And what if the conditions were ripe, would have happened if something unforeseen happened, like a total break to the routine? Would they have to wait for the next helpful tide and  / or moon phase?

Sorry, I dont see this kind of planning and masterminding to the smallest detail for the best part of a week to abduct a normal child from a holiday flat, and then getting spotted as well..... now if it was some rich famous persons  kid  maybe.......

In fairy tales an ordinary child is elected (the mark is the coloboma) and wrested from the human world to the kingdom of the wizards in order to free some Merlin, bewitched by the Lady of the Lake.
The "full moon hypothesis" (isn't the abductor's face moonlike?) shows that old legends still haunt post modern humanity.

I dont know what happened but its a sure thing that this case is abnormal and rates in the 0.00 plus percentage of unsolved missing crimes relating to a toddler taken by a stranger

I dont think Scotland Yard will solve it if it was stranger abduction, there is no precedent

Ben Needham comes quite close Red.  One minute he was playing in the garden - and then he was gone, and no evidence as to who took him has ever been found. (As far as I know)

There was another case - about 35 years ago of a 3/4 yr old Scottish lad who disappeared from his grandparents back garden - which was fenced and IRRC had a bolted back gate.   He's never been found.
(Incidentally his mum never went to search for him - she said she was too frightened of what she might find)

Neither mums have ever given up hope that one day their sons will be found.

As I said, unsolved

Can you think of any case where a stranger took a toddler and that child was reunited years later? These are the hard cold facts and statistics unfortunately, back later

Carolina Santos' abduction was a crime and that is unsolved

Pretty, blond, 3 year old taken from Silves whilst playing on the pavement outside her parents cafe / bar on Christmas Day 2006 ~ less than 5 months before Madeleine was taken... and only about 18 miles away

OK the abduction was frustrated, but it was an abduction, walking off a little girl like that ... and walking her for some considerable distance before being stopped.

That crime wasn't solved, was it?    But then the PJ ignored it, didn't they?

I'm not trying to have it both ways Faith.

He is a proven liar and perjurer.

But he would hardly dare lie about the following - far too many independent 'witnesses' involved - and there is evidence in the files to confirm the maritime 'diligences' he put in place.

Quote:
The Spanish customs service has been asked to increase vigilance at the two ports maintaining links with Morocco,Tarifa and Algeciras. The Algarvian coast, very popular with sailing enthusiasts, is bordered by a large number of marinas.   Pleasure boats from every province berth here.   Situated 120 nautical miles from the African continent, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is the most accessible coast for entering the continent of Europe.    It attracts many yachtsmen, who appreciate the beauty of its beaches and its inlets, but it also attracts all sorts of traffickers.-

Make contact with the marinas and the maritime police; we must have access to video recordings as well as the registers of boats entering and leaving in the last few days.

But not a jot of evidence (other than a discredited sighting) that someone had a key, someone got in, got out, someone passed the child to someone else, there was a getaway car, a roving double backed walk with a stolen child for 25 minutes and now a mysterious boat.

For the purpose of a paedophile ring, child traffickers, or a childless couple who could somehow turn up one day with a 3 year old child they didnt have the day before and no one would notice.

It's pure unadulterated fantasy.

What discredited sighting?  Amaral was quite happy with JT's evidence until she failed to identify Murat, and he eventually had to rule him out of the equation.    It was only after he decided to go down the previously tried and tested route and pin it on the mother, that JT's evidence suddenly became inconvenient  - and so he set out to discredit her.

SY doesn't think it's 'pure unadulterated fantasy' and they are the experts.  The people who make that claim are the same people -  who after 6 years  - haven't been able to come up with a single credible alternative to abduction.   That should tell them something.

The one were she claims to have walked past two people on the same side of the road the dimensions of which would indicate she would be in their faces, without them seeing her, yet at the same time she is able to see a man carrying a child and what that child is wearing from what was originally 50 metres then 5 metres that the two men didn't see and one of whom said he was at the other side of the street.

The one who went past an alleged open shutter 4 times across the car park and didnt see that.

The one who identified Murat (along with the others) then changed her mind when it was obvious it wasn't him. .

Time will tell whether SY are "the experts". After all they have had what, two and half years (more than twice what the PJ had with the original case), reviewing this case and found not a jot of evidence that has resulted in anything substantial to support abduction.

And as i keep saying the fact they are not suspects now DOES NOT automatically mean they will never be suspects as the case progresses.

Let's see what the completed review and re investigation finishes with and then see.

What novel are you building here, Benice ? Mr Smith stated on the 26th of May that "his" carrier wasn't Mr Murat and Mr Amaral was convinced since the Smithcarrier was much more plausible than the Tannerone for the following reason, apart from the fact it was many independent witnesses vs one not independent : the man carried a little girl, this little girl was white and shoulder long dark blond hair, she was about 3/4 and 1meter high, all features that matched perfectly Madeleine and that Ms Tanner hadn't seen.
Besides many plausible alternatives to abduction have been proposed. They don't make sense to you, ok, but don't pretend they don't exist. They do.

I know that I have scored when they do it.

But, I also know that it is a classic propaganda move to say something over and over.  After a while the lie becomes a "truth"

I am wondering why none of them have helped with understanding tides etc.
As usual, they have drowned the topic out by changing subjects and sneering at me.

I know that my thoughts are only my thoughts, but they are carefully thought out and fit thus far.  They also fit the next stage of the abduction  ... perfectly.

Would be good if they argued the points and put some possibilities forward ... but they never do .... cos they haven't got any ideas ... just blame The Mccanns ... based on lies, feelings and myths.

Seems several are determined that Madeleine stays lost for ever.  I wonder why?

people disagreeing with you never means that they a) support Mr Amarals theory or b) that you must be onto  something real or big and as you accuse they try to shut you up to conceal what you are discovering LOL!
Can you actually see what you are saying here? And in your previous posts? That people here are in the know of what happened and must stop you at all costs revealing it. Its crazy and its paranoid and  IMO should not be allowed that you accuse fellow posters of complicitness in something, in fact it beggars all belief

I think I have my connection back.  Our modem was running really hot for the past few days and today is cooler, thank goodness.  Could overheating have caused the problem?

The one were she claims to have walked past two people on the same side of the road the dimensions of which would indicate she would be in their faces, without them seeing her, yet at the same time she is able to see a man carrying a child and what that child is wearing from what was originally 50 metres then 5 metres that the two men didn't see and one of whom said he was at the other side of the street.

Yep she was fairly close.  From the Cutting Edge video
she indicated that they were standing on the edge of the pavement, actually over the kerb.  One of the statements (I forget which, but I have just read it) also says that one man was in the road and the other on the pavement.  And this was where the alleyway between 5A and the tapas reception was.  Plenty of space there.  She could have looped well round them easily without getting very close, but yep she was still fairly close.  Agreed.

However two men were intent in conversation and quite possibly looking at a sleeping / half awake little boy in his push chair.  Very possible that neither Gerry nor Jez saw her.

The one who went past an alleged open shutter 4 times across the car park and didnt see that.

Can we be accurate about this please?  Let's do this as factually as possible.  There is some difference in timings but not a lot considering they were on holiday and would not be looking at their watches or clocks all the time.

After Janes sighting :

Only 3 of the tapas group went across this car park.

Jane went anticlockwise twice (9.17ish + 9'35 -9.40ish) .. and clockwise once 9.20ish) = three times total
Matt, talking to Russ, went anticlockwise once (9.25ish) .  Alone,  went iclockwise once (9.28ish) = twice total
Russ, talking to Matt, went anticlockwise once (9.35/9.40ish).  Alone went clockwise 9.55ish= twice total

So a total of 7 trips, either clockwise or anticlockwise, along the route Tapas reataurant to respective apartments.  I think the ones where people were chatting can be ignored as their attention would largely be on each other.

Five of the trips were unaccompanied so in these cases the persons attention would not be destracted by talking.

Now that I am back on the internet, I intend to do an indepth analysis of how much anyone looking forward as they walked would / would not have seen the blinds/shutters raised.  It will take me time as i have other things going on in my life and there is quite a bit of work in that.

The one who identified Murat (along with the others) then changed her mind when it was obvious it wasn't him. .

Citation please Albertini, cos the only think that I can find is in Amarals book ... and he is a recognised liar.
Oh and in rabidly anti forums etc. that hate Jane Tanner and The Mccanns and are blatently pushing Amarals view.

Time will tell whether SY are "the experts". After all they have had what, two and half years (more than twice what the PJ had with the original case), reviewing this case and found not a jot of evidence that has resulted in anything substantial to support abduction.

How do you know?  Wait and see.

And as i keep saying the fact they are not suspects now DOES NOT automatically mean they will never be suspects as the case progresses.

Let's see what the completed review and re investigation finishes with and then see.
Yep, I agree with you on that one.  Hopefully the guy isn't an untouchable.  I think he might be.

people disagreeing with you never means that they a) support Mr Amarals theory or b) that you must be onto  something real or big and as you accuse they try to shut you up to conceal what you are discovering LOL!
Can you actually see what you are saying here? And in your previous posts? That people here are in the know of what happened and must stop you at all costs revealing it. Its crazy and its paranoid and  IMO should not be allowed that you accuse fellow posters of complicitness in something, in fact it beggars all belief

 @)(++(*

rather presumptious and arrogant of you to decide the reasons why people dont agree with you.

Perhaps its just because they think its a load of crap in their opinion, or they just do not agree or understand any central point being maken

As for your insipid accusations and paranoia and fuzzy logic  that some people do not want a missing child to be found, that is, well beyond the pail at best

And you are one of the last people entitled to lecture about attacking the post and not the poster as you have attacked many people over time and in very personal intrusive ways, and not the message, hypocritical from where Im sittingAnd if Icab has decided to leave here because of his/her frustration with nonsensical and far fetched posts, and any expectation they should be taken seriously, thats a sad day as he is a valuable poster

Oh and why should anyone feel the need to help out with studying bloody tides as if that would prove anything at all, youhave a notion, thats it,you will have to come up with something more solid than that, err like some kind of  evidence, starting with any that Madeleine was abducted

Nobody need do anything Red.  Funny attitude you have!

Your attacks on me are recorded in another forum (some of them, but not the bedbugs one !  LOL!.]  Screen shots were taken because they were so abusive.

Every jot of evidence that is produced indicating that Madeleine was abducted gets trashed by you especially.  The stronger the evidence / pointers, the more vicious have been your responces to the point of incoherence.

Why dont you try and justify your opposition to some of the facts (and theories) that are posted instead of resorting to abuse?

Logically argue your way out.

I cannot see why my posting the weather conditions, the tides, the moons path etc. should upset you.  May I suggest that if you cannot answer my posts with something constructive, then it might be better to just walk away from it all, instead of ranting.

They are facts and should be used as such.  If you can see no use for them, then I am sorry

Some might find them very useful.

And as for you thinking that I am saying that some on here are in the know ~ well some might be.  It is a recognised fact that perps join forums to watch what is going on and to subtledly alter perceptions.  Doesn't happen all th etime, but it does happen.

When posters say things like The Mccanns did it, or that Madeleine IS dead, then you begin to wonder.  Many times anti posters here have said things like that.  How do they know?

Personally I can find no way that the Mccanns would or could have done it, and I strongly believe in Innocent until proven guilty

Kate and Gerry did not have any of the necessary criteria that a perp would have

NO Motive to do it.  Their love and caring is obvious from numerous videos of the family
NO previous History of any crime
NO means, or opportunity to do it.
NO character indications they might do something like this.

Oh, I nearly forgot:  Their behaviour since has been examplorary.  They have tried every avenue they could to find Madeleine.  Yep, they have made mistakes employing fraudsters, but unhappily fraudsters feed off people who are disabled, as the Mccanns were by their distress and worry

People who badger for the case to be re-opened with SY at the helm, are not likely to have been the perps.  Think about it Red.

Please show me I am wrong, then I will reconsider.

So far NO anti / sceptic has given any pointer / facts that the Mccanns could be involved apart from your feelings and Amarals make believe.  Does he have anything except a feeling and a not so good story?  He has yet to present it if he has.

In the Madeleine case  Nothing, Zilch, nada, NO evidence ~ the same as in the Joana Cipriano case.

And as we all know Amaral is a proven liar twice over in PT Courts.  He tells a good story.  Is he causing people to languish in jail, convicting people on stories alone?  If so, he should be tried and locked up for a very long time.  IMO
