In fairy tales an ordinary child is elected (the mark is the coloboma) and wrested from the human world to the kingdom of the wizards in order to free some Merlin, bewitched by the Lady of the Lake.
The "full moon hypothesis" (isn't the abductor's face moonlike?) shows that old legends still haunt post modern humanity.

I dont know what happened but its a sure thing that this case is abnormal and rates in the 0.00 plus percentage of unsolved missing crimes relating to a toddler taken by a stranger

I dont think Scotland Yard will solve it if it was stranger abduction, there is no precedent

Ben Needham comes quite close Red.  One minute he was playing in the garden - and then he was gone, and no evidence as to who took him has ever been found. (As far as I know)

There was another case - about 35 years ago of a 3/4 yr old Scottish lad who disappeared from his grandparents back garden - which was fenced and IRRC had a bolted back gate.   He's never been found.
(Incidentally his mum never went to search for him - she said she was too frightened of what she might find)

Neither mums have ever given up hope that one day their sons will be found.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.

As I said, unsolved

Can you think of any case where a stranger took a toddler and that child was reunited years later? These are the hard cold facts and statistics unfortunately, back later

Carolina Santos' abduction was a crime and that is unsolved

Pretty, blond, 3 year old taken from Silves whilst playing on the pavement outside her parents cafe / bar on Christmas Day 2006 ~ less than 5 months before Madeleine was taken... and only about 18 miles away

OK the abduction was frustrated, but it was an abduction, walking off a little girl like that ... and walking her for some considerable distance before being stopped.

That crime wasn't solved, was it?    But then the PJ ignored it, didn't they?

Then you can't have it both ways Benice. You can't simply trust his word when it suits.

I'm not trying to have it both ways Faith.

He is a proven liar and perjurer.

But he would hardly dare lie about the following - far too many independent 'witnesses' involved - and there is evidence in the files to confirm the maritime 'diligences' he put in place.

Quote:
The Spanish customs service has been asked to increase vigilance at the two ports maintaining links with Morocco,Tarifa and Algeciras. The Algarvian coast, very popular with sailing enthusiasts, is bordered by a large number of marinas.   Pleasure boats from every province berth here.   Situated 120 nautical miles from the African continent, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is the most accessible coast for entering the continent of Europe.    It attracts many yachtsmen, who appreciate the beauty of its beaches and its inlets, but it also attracts all sorts of traffickers.-

Make contact with the marinas and the maritime police; we must have access to video recordings as well as the registers of boats entering and leaving in the last few days.

Unquote.

But not a jot of evidence (other than a discredited sighting) that someone had a key, someone got in, got out, someone passed the child to someone else, there was a getaway car, a roving double backed walk with a stolen child for 25 minutes and now a mysterious boat.

For the purpose of a paedophile ring, child traffickers, or a childless couple who could somehow turn up one day with a 3 year old child they didnt have the day before and no one would notice.

It's pure unadulterated fantasy.

What discredited sighting?  Amaral was quite happy with JT's evidence until she failed to identify Murat, and he eventually had to rule him out of the equation.    It was only after he decided to go down the previously tried and tested route and pin it on the mother, that JT's evidence suddenly became inconvenient  - and so he set out to discredit her.

SY doesn't think it's 'pure unadulterated fantasy' and they are the experts.  The people who make that claim are the same people -  who after 6 years  - haven't been able to come up with a single credible alternative to abduction.   That should tell them something.

Yes,  like he was happy to believe all the lies and filth, about Murat, and add them in his book!

The one were she claims to have walked past two people on the same side of the road the dimensions of which would indicate she would be in their faces, without them seeing her, yet at the same time she is able to see a man carrying a child and what that child is wearing from what was originally 50 metres then 5 metres that the two men didn't see and one of whom said he was at the other side of the street.

The one who went past an alleged open shutter 4 times across the car park and didnt see that.

The one who identified Murat (along with the others) then changed her mind when it was obvious it wasn't him. .

Time will tell whether SY are "the experts". After all they have had what, two and half years (more than twice what the PJ had with the original case), reviewing this case and found not a jot of evidence that has resulted in anything substantial to support abduction.

And as i keep saying the fact they are not suspects now DOES NOT automatically mean they will never be suspects as the case progresses.

Let's see what the completed review and re investigation finishes with and then see.

What novel are you building here, Benice ? Mr Smith stated on the 26th of May that "his" carrier wasn't Mr Murat and Mr Amaral was convinced since the Smithcarrier was much more plausible than the Tannerone for the following reason, apart from the fact it was many independent witnesses vs one not independent : the man carried a little girl, this little girl was white and shoulder long dark blond hair, she was about 3/4 and 1meter high, all features that matched perfectly Madeleine and that Ms Tanner hadn't seen.
Besides many plausible alternatives to abduction have been proposed. They don't make sense to you, ok, but don't pretend they don't exist. They do.

A poor internet connection is a real bugbear Sadie, does this always happen where you are at the moment?

I will get a chance to study the detail you have produced later this morning but in the meantime excellent work.   8((()*/
Thank you John.

Hubby has been working on it, off and on, all day ... and I think it is a little better,, but tricky to catch the right moment between flickering on and off.

New modum ordered; hope that does the trick.

There is nothing fantastic, unsourced or irrational about Sadie's above post.  It is an excellent piece of information and well worthy of debate.

It is well within the bounds of possibility that Madeleine was taken away from PdL by boat.
Thanks CG.  I did see Icabods comments attacking the poster rather than the post.  I thought better of him, but seems he has joined the peeps who continually infer that I have dementia or alzheimers.  I have noticed, they particularly try and pull me down when I post something that makes Amarals theory look a likely farce.

I know that I have scored when they do it.

But, I also know that it is a classic propaganda move to say something over and over.  After a while the lie becomes a "truth"

[Thanks to John/ Admin for removing Icabods comments.]

I am wondering why none of them have helped with understanding tides etc.
As usual, they have drowned the topic out by changing subjects and sneering at me.

I know that my thoughts are only my thoughts, but they are carefully thought out and fit thus far.  They also fit the next stage of the abduction  ... perfectly.

Would be good if they argued the points and put some possibilities forward ... but they never do .... cos they haven't got any ideas ... just blame The Mccanns ... based on lies, feelings and myths.

Seems several are determined that Madeleine stays lost for ever.  I wonder why?

Pleae dont say the Sun

Portuguese broadsheets report a very different story and no  attempted abduction
