Did you see they (OG) might have to stop in a few weeks.  "Detectives believe she was stolen by child traffickers, sex fiends or during a burglary gone wrong."  No wonder they are looking in the wrong direction IMO.
You don’t  believe the repeated rubbish then ?

If that was the case there would be no reason why the Tapas 9 held back on information to the PJ. To me that tells me they are "hiding something" (and that was what Amaral found, and on that point I think he was right).

What makes you think that evidence was being hidden from the Amaral investigation?
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Unnamed detectives - so no official statement quoted

'Believe', suggesting that they have little or no hard evidence to support their belief.

I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

They said it, so I assume it was evident to them.

There were a few things apparently evident to them ... it most certainly didn't make them so.

You'd hope they would get that one right.  They were the ones asking the questions so they are the ones in the best position to determine if there was a reluctance to answer the questions.
It would be something that no one else could determine just from reading a statement.  It is more like watching a video and seeing the reactions to the questions.

Replacement child abduction IMO.

Meaningless without evidence. Who was the desperate mother? No sighting of a female carrying a child that night.

Smithman carrying a child in his arms checked his watch after passing the Smith family and the time was 10:03. Both are still unidentified 10 years later.

I read 3 books (well 4 if I include the online version of Amaral's book) on the topic and all 3 others consider replacement child abduction as a possibility.

What information did they hold back on?  Have I forgotten something ?

I would have to do a type of brain scan to answer a question like that.  It is a suspicion on the PJ's books, they think the Tapas 9 are non-corroborative, so they suspect the Tapas 9 are holding back information.  Obviously the PJ can't tell what that information is.
It is purely a suspicion, but if the PJ have this suspicion that suspicion is a fact.

Oh Right, thank you for that info Rob.

So it is a kind of self developed myth that the PJ were relying on?   Sounds very Amaral -led to me, like his conjectures that Leonor and Joao Cipriano were having sexual relations when Joana found them at it?   Or that they fed Joanas corpse to the pigs.   No proof of either, of course.

Likewise that Kate and Gerry were swingers and secreted Madeleines body into a coffin in the church because the deceased was being cremated , along with Madeleine, the next day

All highly likely and extremely intelligent thoughts.   8)-)))    ^*&&

They appointed him to the job so one would think he wasn't wrong all the time.
