Are you offering Holly a poison chalice to drink from?

I have caught up on the overnight posts now.  There are multiple instances of sniping in there, most emanating from a poster well-renowned for sniping.

Another sniping post
I suggest we move forward...that's the intelligent thing to do

Have a care Rob.  You could well be.

Just as a matter of interest, do any other Moderators actually read The Reports.  You could all be better informed if you do.
Are they the one's you get sent to us via email?  More often than not there is nothing to see.

Maybe but who has defined sniping?  What you think is sniping is it the same as Davel?
What is accusing?  Is asking someone if they have been drinking an accusation?

To me an accusation would be saying "You have been drinking". Not "Have you been drinking?"

Would you care to define sniping then Eleanor?

You have to click on the Second Link Rob.  It shows the Reported Post.  If you click on the First Link it takes you to the correct part of the Thread and shows whether or not the comment has been deleted or modified.

Even "Hmm" is Sniping.  And so is asking a poster if they have been drinking.

That's one example that came to mind from the overnight pile.  Asking a simple question but having it thrown back at you as an accusation. Classic sniping tactics. Deployed on several occasions.

Anyone else who asked a Poster if they have been drinking will have the comment Deleted in Full.

Even "Hmm" is Sniping.  And so is asking a poster if they have been drinking.

In the context in which the question was asked, it made perfect sense and breached no forum rules.

Look, if a post is totally nonsense it might be a very relevant question.

Anyone else who asked a Poster if they have been drinking will have the comment Deleted in Full.

If that is the ruling, all comments that questions the intellect of another poster should be deleted too then.

I disagree with the Hmm being a snipe that is only your interpretation of a post. I use it a s a thinking  like "Hmm I don't thnk so" if I disagree with a post.
 Or Hmm I wonder...

Asking a poster if they have been drinking or on drugs on in therapy in reply to a post is goading and sniping. AND Unworthy of a reply.

I would also say that there are posters who twist words deliberatly, and make personal jibes\comments  to discredit the person without challenging the post backed by different evidence.

That should be stopped hence forth!

I feel if I find a post to be a fantasy without evidence, I am challenging the contents of the post- not attacking the poster!

Just another cop out as far as I can see.  I do delete all Hmms when I see them.

Well what about those emoticons  %77*  Doesn't that one suggest the post being replied to was silly?
