They both gave a reason for entering the children's bedroom; the open door. Therefore it can be assumed that they wouldn't have entered if it had been as they left it.
Erm....this seems to suggest you believe they found the door left not as they found it, surely not??

Too much emphasis is put on what Trish said.   Trish recalled her brother was hysterical  sobbing down the phone,  she had a job to comprehend what he was saying as he was very distraught.   The door IMO that he was referring to was the bedroom door which Kate said she found wide open,   the shutters Gerry believed had been forced open as according to them they believed the shutters could only be opened from the inside.  Trish was the one who said jemmied,  or maybe Gerry might have said used something to force the shutters.  Everything is simple to work out and IMO  this conversation is twisted by many.

I didn't put the article in the papers, this story as never been retracted and there's no way it was lost in translation.

Reporter: Well, the McCann family, Gerry and Kate, with their twins and three-year-old Madeleine went on holiday to Portugal last Saturday, from their home in Rothley, in Leicestershire. They'd gone to a popular resort on the coast of the Algarve with a group of other families; nine adults; eight children; all on holiday together. Now, last night Madeleine and the twins were left sleeping in their room, while her parents had a meal in a restaurant two hundred yards away - and they did regular checks on them - but at ten o'clock last night there was a huge shock for Kate. Madeleine's aunt who lives in Scotland, takes up the story.

Trish Cameron: They last checked at half past nine; they were all sound asleep, sleeping; windows shut; shutters shut. Kate went back at ten o'clock to check; the front door was lying open; the window had been tampered with; the shutters had been jammied open... or whatever you call it, and Madeleine was missing.

Jon Corner, founder of Liverpool-based River Media, is godfather to the McCann’s twins and his wife has known Mrs McCann since they were both three. The co-founder of city centre-based River Media, and a father-of-three himself, said: “Kate phoned me in the early hours totally devastated."

"She just told me that Maddy had been abducted, that the shutters of the apartment had been forced and someone had taken her."

"Maddy was asleep in the room with Sean and Amelie and whoever has taken her has gone straight past the sleeping twins, left them completely alone and snatched Maddy."

"Kate is just so distressed. She doesn’t know what to do. It has knocked me and everyone else for six. It doesn’t actually seem real."

Misread, misunderstand, misrepresent and attack. Boringly familiar reaction Swirly.

No 'family' was mentioned, just Kate McCann.
The story that was told was didn't seem real because it wasn't imo.
I wonder if Jon Corner was suitably chastised for calling Madeleine 'Maddy'?

Ooohh right, you’re just having a laugh at the expense of Kate McCann’s obvious distress, that’s perfectly fine then.

To be fair, John Cormer was characterising  / recounting Kate's account of her story, which formed an opinion of 'distress'. So the 'finding it funny', if it's the case, would be quite detached.

Jon Corner said, about the abduction of MM...

"It doesn’t actually seem real."

To which I said....

You & me both Jon

That's funny because, to me & G-Unit, the abduction of MM, doesn't actually seem real.

Having to explain this kind of ruins the joke, but never mind.

I understood “the joke”.  Dress it up how you want, the net result is you were both ridiculing Kate’s distress at the situation.  Why even bother trying to deny it?  It’s what you’re here for isn’t it?

OK.  I find Kate's feigned distress amusing. Happy now?
