Jon Corner said, about the abduction of MM...

"It doesn’t actually seem real."

To which I said....

You & me both Jon

That's funny because, to me & G-Unit, the abduction of MM, doesn't actually seem real.

Having to explain this kind of ruins the joke, but never mind.

I think Swirly understands exactly what you and I found amusing, but prefers to pretend otherwise. No-one can be capable of that level of misunderstanding imo.

Then again, those who support the McCanns to the nth degree seem capable of ignoring the many strange utterances of the McCanns and misrepresenting the posts of those who point them out as 'being nasty'.

i think those who criticise the mccanns  simply refuse to look at the evidence objectively

Reporter: Well, the McCann family, Gerry and Kate, with their twins and three-year-old Madeleine went on holiday to Portugal last Saturday, from their home in Rothley, in Leicestershire. They'd gone to a popular resort on the coast of the Algarve with a group of other families; nine adults; eight children; all on holiday together. Now, last night Madeleine and the twins were left sleeping in their room, while her parents had a meal in a restaurant two hundred yards away - and they did regular checks on them - but at ten o'clock last night there was a huge shock for Kate. Madeleine's aunt who lives in Scotland, takes up the story.

Trish Cameron: They last checked at half past nine; they were all sound asleep, sleeping; windows shut; shutters shut. Kate went back at ten o'clock to check; the front door was lying open; the window had been tampered with; the shutters had been jammied open... or whatever you call it, and Madeleine was missing.

Trish was quoting what she made of the conversation with a very distraught Gerry,  as she said she could hardly make out what he was saying he was crying so much.   So this conversation was muddled and taken as fact, but only by those who decided the McCann's are guilty by the look of it.

I understood perfectly what Wonderfulspam found amusing.

What strange uttering of the McCann's are you referring to?   Are you talking about the jemmied shutters?  Are you trying to say that intelligent people would say they had been broken when there was no evidence that they were?   Those blinds could be raised from the outside,  the McCann's thought they were for extra safety and could only be raised from the inside,  Gerry lifted them from the outside,  to his way of thinking they were forced up, broken in other words.  Why people have to keep on about the shutters is beyond me,  but maybe it is the only thing they can go on about as there is nothing that points to the McCann's as being guilty.

According to some, those who said the McCanns told them that the shutters were jemmied, smashed or broken misunderstood what they were told. Just like the interpreters misunderstood what they were told, or they weren't up to the job, or they misinterpreted on purpose. Is that 'looking at the evidence objectively'? In my opinion that's making excuses.

i think its an established fact there will be errors in translation...

you on the other hand wont even accept the possibility that there are errors in translation...you beleive the stateements are 100% accurate....i think that is 100% unrealistic

Graham McKenzie was able to understand Gerry McCann quite easily;

Mr McCann was absolutely distraught telling the person receiving the call that he feared 'she (Madeleine McCann) had been taken by paedophiles'.

He mentioned the possibility that that she could have been taken by a paedophile

I think they were getting the gist, despite Gerry's distraughtness.

What’s with the “Swirly” reference?  Yes, I know exactly what you find amusng - the idea that Kate McCann expressed her distress by saying the situation felt unreal as related to Jon Corner, because you believe she is a liar and not someone genuinely distressed by the events of her daughter’s disappearance.  Now, consider for a moment that Madeleine WAS abducted (perfectly possible despite your assertions to the contrary) - is your amusement still justified?  Is it ever appropriate to find a mother’s apparent distress amusing?  And if it turns out she throttled Madeleine with her bare hands are her words still  worthy of a snigger?  You clearly think so.

OK.  I find Kate's feigned distress amusing. Happy now?
Thanks for your honesty, though “feigned distress” is clearly just your opinion.  Perhaps having murdered her child in cold blood she was genuinely distressed at her actions, eh?
