No-one who was there at the time ever suggested that the shutters had been jemmied ... t'would have been mightily daft of anyone to make that suggestion when the shutters had been interfered with only by being opened and with no sign of damage otherwise.

No, it doesn’t mean Trish is a liar unless you insist that everyone who says something that paraphrases or deviates slightly from the original is deliberately lying.  Do you insist on that?  Probably, because that’s what sceptics like to do.
