There was indeed a story in Deniere Heure, and acording to Fagge;
Details of the letter have been leaked through the British diplomatic mission in Brussels to the respected Belgian newspaper Deniere Heure.

Did Duarte Levy write the article?
On 2 December 2007 Nick Fagge of the Daily Express reported “Madeleine: British Diplomat in Portugal had doubts about McCanns”.
So indeed there is a possibility that he might have ... particularly since everything printed is unattributed and unsubstantiated and that particular article does contain almost all of the shibboleths dear to the sceptic heart.
You just don't appear to have grasped that the main point of the (deleted?) Express articles to which you keep referring ... is that they were deleted because they were libellous and as such were and are nothing more than a tissue of lies.
Just as Amaral failed to find evidence to back up his wild theories I think you have to give consideration to evidencing your assertion that the Policia Judiciaria were not responsible for the release of defamatory information to the Portuguese press concerning Kate and Gerry McCann in particular and others in general.
The first hurdle you have to overcome regarding that is who else had the credibility as the force of law and order in conjunction with motive for blackening the McCann's name; certainly not the culprits of your choosing.
Then you have to overcome the problem that journalists have named the Judicial Police as one of their sources.
