And you have decided they are a national disgrace... Mainly I think because you don't like them being sympathetic to the mccanns.  I think that exposes your total lack of objectivity

Casting aspersions on my objectivity is not a satisfactory reply to the evidence I have posted. Only other evidence refuting my claims can do that.

You have supplied the evidence by referring to the Guardian as a national disgrace for not being totally accurate with timings.... And your feeling that other papers are a national disgrace simply because they believe both SY and the, PJ who say the mccanns arent suspects and are sympathetic towards them.  I find your opinion quite laughable

What is laughable D - is that you don't realize how unsympathetic most people are to the mcns

I personally is more sympathetic to the wrongdoing - they did to Maddie and her brother and sister.

You say they are not suspects - but they haven't been cleared either.

most people are sympathetic towards the mccanns in my experience...They dont need to be cleared as they havent been charged with anything..

The fact that you are unable refute my evidence highlights the weakness of your position.

What evidence.  ..that the paper may not be totally accurate.. It may not be... That doesn't make it a national disgrace

they haven't been charged with anything - but

Madeleine McCann’s parents have not been ruled innocent when it comes to their daughter’s disappearance, a judge in Portugal’s highest court has said.

Someone who has never been charged or tried don't have to be ruled innocent.  They simply are.

The last word from the PJ was that they don't know whether Madeleine McCann was abducted or not. Pedro do Carmo said that and he also said all possibilities were still on the table.

There is no such thing as being ruled innocent... That might explain why... LOL

The PJ have said the mccanns are not suspects and there's no evidence against them

I have no idea if there are any reliable news platforms or which one in the world is the most accurate, and why should I? It's not something I've thought about because it's not something I care about.

I do have an opinion on the British press because I've seen the virtually unbelievable mess they made of reporting the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

They attacked the PJ unmercifully; they reported an 'abduction' which was only ever an opinion not a fact; they printed unsubstantiated stories they got from unreliable sources on both sides and they repeatedly got the basic (checkable) facts wrong.

They also seriously hampered the investigation in Portugal by printing appeals for 'sightings' which meant the police were bombarded with completely ridiculous claims by people who thought they might have seen Madeleine in the most unlikely places worldwide.

Finally their utter bias was and is clear. Using words like desperate, heartbroken, suffering, devout and brave to describe the McCanns was a clear attempt to persuade people that they were innocent.

There was hardly any objective reporting at all. It isn't the place of the press to decide which crime was committed or who is innocent or guilty, but they didn't care, presumeably because they were making plenty of money.
Hmm, you sound like a conspiracy theorist to me.  What you appear to be describing is the behaviour of the tabloid press which rarely rises out of the gutter no matter what country they are from, and therefore are unlikely ever to earn the soubriquet “the pride of the nation” anywhere.  Putting them to one side I would say that we have an amazing news media and tradition of news reporting and investigative journalism in this country and to write it all off as a national disgrace because of the occasional minor factual error is utterly ridiculous and absurdly over-emotive.  I would suggest standing back and getting some perspective before spleen-venting over nothing much in future.
