I think Sheila Caffell and her parents should have taken Dr Ferguson's advice and made use of the services the NHS could offer. She needed monitoring and supporting by mental health professionals and she didn't get it.

Dr Ferguson thought she left his care before she was ready but despite that she wasn't seen by anyone qualified to assess her mental state after 29th March. The only thing keeping a psychotic episode at bay was the Haldol, and her GP practice halved her dose in July without Dr Ferguson's agreement.

It's impossible to know the effect of that on her, but when she was in hospital reducing her medication led to her psychosis returning.

Sheila's illness is certainly not proof that she committed the crime, but it gives a possible motive as to why she could have done-----IMO.  In the same way, Jeremy's greed gives him a motive.

I disagree with that reasoning.  Sheila's mental illness could never have been a 'motive'.  It could have been considered an explanation only if she was not taking her meds and had she had a record of violence.

She was under medical care at the time of her murder and there is no record she had ever at any time attempted to harm anyone.  If she had, I'm sure we would have heard all about it.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

That is most likely why she ended up being over medicated and why she was tired all of the time. So where are the reports of Sheila having paranoid outbursts around the time of the murders as she did in hospital?

Appears to me as though it’s possible Dr Ferguson may well have got carried away with all the hype at the time

His evidence suggested a bigger role was played by Sheila's GP than Dr Angeloglou's evidence suggested.

Feeling threatened, I think.

As to her medication she was given injections of 200mg of Haldol until July, when her dose was halved even though this wasn't on the advice or with the agreement of Dr Ferguson; he hadn't seen her since March.

Do your chemistry research and you’ll find there’s little difference tranquillising effect between 100mg and 200mg of Haloperidol.

Why do you think 100mg Haloperidol is available if it isn’t effective? Sheila was on a stabilising amount to prevent psychosis; 200mg was clearly too much for her and was unnecessary as she wasn’t actually psychotic at that time.

Dr Ferguson was the one who PRESCRIBED Sheila the Haloperidol; and he was the one who determined the dosage, and then decreased it.

Did this come out during Bamber’s trial?

Reading the statements I didn't conclude that Ferguson agreed to reduce the dosage.

I should have said "explanation" rather than "motive", agreed!

That is so. The request being made by Sheila's GP.

Shouldn’t it have been Dr Ferguson’s responsibility to monitor SC?

Did this come out during Bamber’s trial?

In his statement he suggest that she was likely over medicated.

And don’t suppose Bamber has ever showed any interested in this
