Ispy - I'm looking at the crime scene photos over on the blue forum and the gun does not appear to have a barrel protector screwed on.
Where are you getting your information from?
You’re right, Robbitybob
I made a mistake on that, and it was pointed out to me that the protector wasn’t on the end of the barrel.
But the rest of what you’ve relayed is correct.
Actually, the fact that the barrel didn’t have its protector on further proves that the silencer had been attached instead, and then removed after the killings. Jeremy probably forgot or couldn’t see the point in putting the protector on, that’s if he knew exactly where it was, anyway. Nevill always kept the silencer on the rifle, so the protector could have been anywhere in thta cupboard or even in a drawer.
Nevill was known to be meticulous with his guns. He kept them in pristine condition and always kept them secure.
He also always kept that rifle fitted with the silencer and scope so as to kill any vermin, foxes, rabbits etc as soon as he spotted them — as you know — foxes especially kill ducks, chickens, sheep, so have to be culled.
Scopes take time to fix to a rifle, as does removing one. Which is another reason Sheila couldn’t have looked for a screwdriver and with shaking hands and going berserk, carefully unattached the scope.
