Brueckner may never be charged with any offence other than the ones he's already been found guilty of.  But that is not my concern.

When we find out this concrete evidence we will have a better idea of his potential guilt or innocence. The mail named Stephen Lawrence's killers, no one complained. It's all about evidence and there is total freedom of thought.

I can't see his reputation being damaged much, if at all.  And at least everyone now knows what he looks like.

When?  More like if imo.

Paul Dacre took a massive risk in terms of libel:

"We were doing something pretty cataclysmic,”

Just my opinion of course but Jeremy Bamber is innocent and a couple from UK, unknown to T9, abducted Madeleine McCann - motive unknown.  Was J J murdered as a result of identifying as a goth?

Well god knows what concrete mix they used ... it's taking a damn long time to set.

Probably the mixture it not right and it will end up a load of slop

He was an unknown entity prior to this.  Rightly or wrongly the tabloid media has portrayed a monster.  I've yet to see any of them publish authentic official court docs showing exactly what he has been found guilty of.

Eleanor how has this development been reported on in France?

And the lives of his victims!

Afaik none of his victims have been identified.

Does it not bother you that you haven't seen any authentic official court docs relating to actual crimes convicted of, sentences imposed etc?

Doesn't bother me at all...are you suggesting they don't exist. It's reported he's in prison.....or do you think that's a hoax as well

I believed he had been found guilty of the violent rape of the elderly American lady?
Deal with the failings of others as gently as with your own.

I don't know because I don't read French News Papers.  However, all of my ExPat neighbours think I am raving mad and roll their eyes in horror when they see me coming because I never talk about anything else.  But they do ask for updates and opinions now and again, although I don't think they are all that interested beyond stringing him up and disembowelling him.

I of course am on the side of Innocent Until Proven Guilty which is a complete mystery to them.

You are correct Holly. Germany's privacy laws mean suspects aren't named even after being convicted; CB wasn't named in the press when he was sentenced to his current prison term.

Thanks G-Unit.

On a slightly different note the case of Vincent Tabak for the murder of Joanna Yeates offers up some interesting points:  the media reporting and portrayal of Christopher Jefferies and the law on Tabak's bad character:

Has that actually been confirmed by the German Prosecutors or is it just something else splashed in the media.
There's been so much said that  I forget who said what.
I believe everything. And l believe nothing.
I suspect everyone. And l suspect no one.
I gather the facts, examine the clues... and before   you know it, the case is solved!"

Or maybe not -

OG have been pushed out by the Germans who have reserved all the deck chairs for the foreseeable future

I believe he's currently serving a short custodial sentence in Kiel prison for drug dealing?

Where's the evidence for this?

If you were observant enough you would have seen the American woman's name in a German documentary on Brueckner which I posted a link to ages ago.

Why should you be given the privilege of being shown confidential documents of the BKA and German Courts?!
It's one of them cases, in'it... one of them f*ckin' cases.

correction....suspects can  be named if it's in the public interest. in this case as  they are appealing for information re Breukner it coukld be classed as public interest. i read eraly on that the reason the police havent named his is to do with evidence disclosure.

Are the newspapers who named him being prosecuted
