If you read Matt's statement, he claimed to have listened at the windows of all the children's apartments, then returned to the restaurant, where upon Gerry then left for his check.

So that puts Gerry's check even later than the claimed 9:05.

Gerry reckoned it was possible the abductor was already in the apartment when he entered.  It can’t be ruled out IMO.

That still puts the opportunity of abduction later than 9:05, later still according to Matt, more like 9:10.

Thankfully, OG managed to clear up all the inconsistency in their forensic analysis of the time line.

So are you saying there was literally no opportunity for Madeleine to be taken out of the apartment before 10pm?  Were there people literally in or right next  to the apartment front and back for the entire hour?

Not just any old analysis, but a Forensic Analysis, no less - whatever one of them is.

No I'm saying, the timeline is unreliable, if you believe the statements, she was still there at either 9pm, 9;05, 9;10 or possibly even 9:15.

Huge margins for error.

Jane claims to have left 5 or 10 mins after Gerry.

So possibly 9:20.

So if Gerry actually left for his check at 9:00, only spoke to Gez for 3-5 minutes according to Gez, that leaves almost 15 minutes Gerry spent in the apartment having a really long wee & gawping at the beautiful Madeleine.

Interesting that he never mentioned gawping at his other children and thinking how wonderful they also were.
Perhaps Madeleine really was 'The Special One'

If that was the case then logically the abductor must have entered and exited through the patio doors. Matt states the shutters were closed and besides Gerry would have noticed the open window. However this scenario is implausible because Kate states she knew there had been an abduction because the curtains, window and shutters were all open. Why would the abductor open the window and shutters if they came in and left via the patio doors? That strikes me as illogical.

To distract from the fact that they actually used the front door with a key that some burglars & gardeners from the ocean club gave them.

We were told by posters on this forum that the open window and shutters were evidence of abduction. To me it is illogical and implausible that  the window was the point of entry for the supposed abductor. We know that when they were examined it was found that the shutters and window were opened from the inside. So stories circulating the next morning of forced and even "damaged" shutters as proof of an abduction are implausible, imo.

Interestingly Matt's statement changes from statement 1, When the alarm was raised he & all the others went into Madeleines room & saw the window & shutters open.

Statement 2,  He entered the apartment but did not go into Maddie's room & see the shutters, & by the time of the rogatory he decided he never entered the apartment at all at that time & had just stood at the bottom of the steps with only Kate, Gerry & maybe David entering the apartment.

The T9 really were extra reliable witnesses.

"Then, the whole group went to Madeleine's bedroom and checked that the twins were sleeping OK. That there was no sign of a burglary in the apartment. Only one window in the childrens' bedroom was open. The window was open and the respective shutter."

Asked, he relates that when he entered the apartment, from memory, he did not approach MBM's bedroom therefore cannot provide any details about its condition."

If you ask whether we went, you know, into the apartment and I'm almost a hundred percent sure we didn't go to the apartment

So how many minutes does that leave for an abductor to strike?

That depends what time Kate raised the alarm.

(We can't be certain what time she raised the alarm)
