Yes, & faked abductions are still a kind of abduction I suppose.

Fascinating that you consider Brueckner's confession as fake but the Ciprianos' as true.

Anyway, it's a fact that Madeleine, a ward of court, has never been returned to the UK. As the UK courts have accepted certain responsibilities for Madeleine then they also have the power to request police assistance in her abduction.

Back to Madeleine's British Passport.  This gives her the right to assistance and protection while abroad.  This Remit lark is just a load of nonsense thought up by Sceptics to point the finger at The McCanns.

Madeleine is entitled to whatever help is on offer.

She's dead so there's no helping her now I'm afraid.

Put it another way with all the trouble the MET are having and have had including now "Head of Scotland Yard's catastrophic VIP sex abuse inquiry faces gross misconduct proceedings over 'misleading comments' at end of £2.5m probe" would one seriously expect them to conduct a proper investigation when it now seems likely CB was given to them not by investigating but by an informant or two coming to their rescue, the article makes interesting reading about crims being informants.

Link to the bolded bit.

If memory serves me well ~ this is a prime example of deciding a remit and sticking to it.  Bearing in mind Nick had already laughed all the way to the bank on previous forays in the days when he was astute enough to use dead celebs and not those who were alive and able to fight their corner.

Try comparing like with like.

German investigators are now concentrating all their resources on Madeleine. From inception, Operation Grange followed the evidence in what was a prime example of the excellence of British policing. Nobody from Grange is going to face any sort of procedures such as you suggest in the link you have used.  What a shame you fail to recognise the best of British particularly as the Savile saga is called to mind in the police actions you publicise as abhorrent.  That isn't double standards and hypocrisy - it is simply just inane.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

What protection was she afforded at circa 10pm ?

They didn't decide it was definitely an abduction as far as I can see.

They decided nothing.

They interviewed witnesses and persons of interest.

They ruled people out but they did not have the evidence to enable them to rule anyone in.

They established the sex attacks on children prevalent in the Algarve at the time of Madeleine's disappearance.

They even proved that it was possible to walk invisibly about in Luz carrying a child.

They had a job needing to be done and they did it.  If someone had done the same early days when Madeleine went missing, the chances are we wouldn't be having this conversation as Madeleine might have been recovered.

If Grange 'followed the evidence' then how come the evidence didn't lead the Worlds finest to the murderer?

Right, no way to rule out the McCanns then really.

Unlocked windows & doors apparently.
I wouldn't even leave my cat indoors with the place unsecured. I guess I must just love my cat more than the McCanns did their own children.
But then I do love Princess Fluffy rather a lot.

Wot spam said .

It lead to 600 persons of interest apparently. I'm intrigued by the evidence Maddie was taken in a criminal act by a stranger. Seems the evidence can be linked to just about anyone really. I wonder what on earth this evidence could possibly be?
Perhaps someone can explain 🤔

The point of the thread is that sceptics see it as some kind of conspiracy that SY have not investigated....or interviewed the mccanns under caution when the facts is they do not have the jursdiction to do say. Any investgation would be illegal

There is no evidence, other than the word of a convicted criminal, that Brueckner ever confessed. There is with the Cipriano abomination.

There’s your difference.

There’s evidence of confession under duress, sure.
