There's no evidence that paedophilia is involved either.
If OG hadn't decided in advance of any evidence that paedophilia was involved, there would be no reason to even consider Brueckner.
Yes you’re right.  I mean, why would any police force consider the possibility that a young child who mysteriously disappeared from a ground floor unlocked apartment in the night might have fallen into the clutches of a paedophile?  It just never happens, kidnapping of young kids by paedos, and the only reason OG decided to pursue this theory was because Gerry told them to. It’s as plain as the face on my nose.

Quite possibly Brueckner did rape that poor girl but he was not convicted of it and it is possible that Brueckner abducted Madeleine, unlikely but possible but not one charge has been lodged against him in relation to that case in, how many years is it, so he is as innocent as you or I at this point. If Brueckner’s friend’s statements were thought to be at all convincing he would at least have been charged by now which suggests to me even Germany’s highest prosecutors think Brueckner’s friend’s evidence, at the very least, lacks honesty.

Not so much dishonesty in my opinion but a simple fairytale, criminals are renowned for telling them and regurgitating them.

In adults it amount to the same.

Anything is possible I suppose but there’s no evidence that Brueckner is involved. Where’s Brueckner’s  ‘Martin Smith’?
This is a good point. Where's his Robert Murat, with a surrogate JT to point the finger at some other innocent man? Where's his egg man?
He doesn't need to create one, he doesn't even need to explain. He never will.

The conceit to trot in to court armed with nothing more than the babblings of a wine sodden hobo as 'evidence'.
The trial has set the German judicial system back decades; their much vaunted and proudly proclaimed conviction rate and pre-trial screening acumen in tatters.

HCW's next television appearance will be on Channel 5's 'Top 20 Justice Blunders'. Probably with Barry Chuckle and Helen Thing (7th on Big Brother 2007).

I believe they did find Breukners camera and what they saw was true wasn't it?

What was true? That there's was some unequivocal evidence contained / stored in the camera*?
So why not charge him? Or, at the very least, interview him under caution?
HCW alluded to such very early on (4 years ago btw), and even went as far as suggesting that he didn't want to play his hand and reveal the evidence he had against him, as he would have the opportunity for revisionism.

A couple of things:
1. If HCW had such compelling evidence, then why haven't K & G stopped looking for MM? If anything they have dismissed the notion (of photographic evidence) out of hand.
2. HCW disclosed his evidence to SY. Why didn't they act? Why do they keep asking for and receiving funding to find someone who they strongly assume is dead?
3. Why did HCW get personally involved in CB's totally unrelated sex cases needlessly? Do they only have one prosecutor?
4. Let's say one of CB's hobo pals came up with the goods and led police to the aforementioned deceased canine. Stay with me. So HCW basks in the glory of finding a cache of dead MM images / video. Apart from this being the single-most significant discovery in the recent history of crime, it also propels Herr Hobo to almost mythical status - The Golden Tramp. And instead of letting him babble incoherently through days of ultimately doomed testimony and cross examination, he could simply have held him up as the paragon of snuff detecting that he is and simply proclaimed that he was, in fact, His Hoboness; the Fragrant Vagrant; The Visionary Vagabond; The Grifter Drifter with a Bifta.
But he didn't. He still hasn't disclosed the nature of this cache, despite numerous reasons why he should have by now, nothwithstanding the fact that it could have saved his now broken career. Why? It doesn't exist. At best he has a dead dog where something was, but it's useless whatever it is. It was a bluff. Look at how that panned out.

* I believe the cache found under Ken 'Diddy, No, Doddy' Dodd's dead dad's dead dog was alleged to be digital storage.

I don’t think any boho hobo had anything to do with the finds under the dead dog iirc.
As to your first point, obviously the McCanns don’t want the case to ever be solved even if it means pinning it on some poor, hapless paedo and completely taking the heat off themselves, because that way they can keep on raking in the one or two thousand quid Kate’s book brings in each year.  Makes perfect sense when you think about it dunnit?

I meant the evidence that helped get CB caged for the rape of the elderly woman.  They saw him raping her on his camera.  So their evidence was correct wasn't it?

I believe it was a single hair that did for him.
The video was someone talking about seeing a video several years earlier that nobody else has seen.

The evidence was a perfect match for Diane's rape and torture statement in police files since the crime was reported in 2005.
All the police needed was a name for the perpetrator and this was given to them as part of the Madeleine investigation.

It is idiocy in the extreme to suggest that DNA cannot be found in one pubic hair. But here we are given that some idiots don't mind sharing the information.
"All I'm going to say is that we've conducted a very serious investigation and there's no indication that Madeleine McCann's parents are connected to her disappearance. On the other hand, we have a lot of evidence pointing out that Christian killed her," Wolter told the "Friday at 9"....

Which police and by whom?
And who said DNA can't be found in one hair?

Please do not affect to know it all when your questions reveal the depth of your ignorance re the subject.
