MADELEINE McCann’s gran last night said she wished the missing youngster’s photo was “on the front page of every single newspaper every day”.

Susan Healy, 67, claimed it would help the “world to remember her” so someone may come forward to end the family’s six years of hell.

She said they would “never give up hope that Madeleine was alive” before urging: “Please don’t forget her.”

Susan said her daughter Kate, 45, and son-in-law Gerry, 44, had kept her in the dark about the findings of a two-year Metropolitan Police review of the case.

It has identified more than a dozen new suspects in the abduction of the girl who vanished from her parents’ holiday pad in Portugal in May 2007.

Susan said: “Kate and Gerry have been asked by the Met not to say anything about the investigation.

“They need to do what’s right for Madeleine.’’

Susan, from Liverpool, said she firmly believed her grand-daughter, who would now be 10, could still be alive.

She said: “I would like to see Madeleine on the front page of every single newspaper, every day. We must remember her.”

A family spokesman said they were “greatly encouraged” by the move to draw up a short list of “people they believe are of interest to the inquiry”.

So what do you suggest they should do?  Stick a pin in a Map of the World and jet off there with their spades at the ready every week or so?   I can just see the howls of protest that the enormous expense of doing that would provoke and the demands to know who was paying their bills back home while they were away.     Not to mention the accusations of neglect for leaving the twins.     

The sceptics would have a field day - and for once they would be right  - I can't think of a bigger waste of fund money - or a worse situation for the twins.

The McCanns have taken advice from the 'experts' on what to do to give Madeleine the best chance of being found - and have followed it.  Why do you think that is so wrong of them?

The Mccanns have been very pro-active.  They have used mental energy and intellect, rather than waste foolish physical energy.

Mental energy might not be so visible as someone with a spade like phoney Pat Brown.

An odd article as Madeleine is on the front pages alot of the time all this time later. To ask for her case to be on the front page every day is unrealistic and a smack in the face for all other missing kids IMHO!!

Well, there's the £22,500 donated to the 'Missing People' and 'Missing Children in Europe' Charities  and also the proceeds of Kate's marathon run to raise money for Missing People which is £21,555 at the moment - and still rising.    So that makes £43,555 that I know of myself.   Pretty good wouldn't you agree?

As for  'coloumn space', maybe you should contact the appropriate Editors with your concerns about other missing children.      They decide what goes in their newspapers and the fact is that anything related to Madeleine McCann increases circulation and therefore profits - which is why they do it.  IMHO
