People have lawyers, we don't generally have a separate fund, we do however PAY our lawyers. How do you know the McCann's don't pay their lawyer in PT from their OWN private money? Gerry McCann is a cardiologist. I'm sure he can afford a lawyer.

The point was that they did not use their own money when Mr Amaral was being sued...the fund was used and Duarte was not working pro bono, which is what the op was about

There is also FA evidence that the McCanns "did it".

Back to square one.

I believe Scotland Yard have a number of new leads.

Did what exactly ?

Had a stroll along the beach the following morning ? >@@(*&)

As to 'leads', old ones rehashed.

If SY had even the vaguest idea of where Madeleine is/was, she would have been found.

Process of elimination, there is no evidence of any criminal activity by the McCann, the forensic timeline shows that there was opportunity for a stranger abduction to have happened (according to Scotland Yard). You have eye witnesses seeing someone leaving the area with carrying a child. That person has never come forward, hence logical explanation is abduction by stranger.
If SY had declared the opportunity for abduction was small, how would the tax payers react?
The Ministério Publico couldn't reasonably infer abduction by stranger from a sighting Mrs Tanner made in such conditions that it was the first of the very important details the rejected reconstruction was aimed to clarify.

SY haven't declared that, they have however, instead they said:

He said officers had carried out a forensic analysis of the timeline of events, and had identified opportunities when the child could have been taken in a criminal act.

Dismissing conspiracy theories about Madeleine's parents' involvement, Redwood said he believed the girl's disappearance was the result of "a criminal act by a stranger".

Redwood said he believed the girl's disappearance was the result of "a criminal act by a stranger".[/i]
Saying he "believed" means there was no evidence of it, it wasn't an established fact.
If, instead, Inspector Redwood had repeated what Magalhães e Menezes had declared, that in reality there was no evidence (at least yet) that the girl's disappearance was the result of a criminal act by a stranger, what would the tax payer think?

Perhaps if you go back & listen again you may be able to hear it, most normal people can.

Seems you are correct, Mrs B.

Redwood said taking Madeleine from the apartment would be a criminal act by a stranger, which of course is true.

I suppose hearing loss may be something that comes with age, though I think there are solutions for that problem. Failure to actually understand what people say is a whole different matter.

Could does not mean it did.

There is no substitute for evidence.

Their Fund accounts show this was not the case, the ones up to 2009 and 2010, link to them can be found in the documents and reports section at the top of this forum, under the chairmans statements
