The announcement is due to the fact, I suspect, that the papers have picked up on the early information sent to them by the TV channels of their upcoming programming. The BBC will have listed the Crimewatch details  and SY will have supported this Crimewatch programme as Police Forces usually do with extra information in order to increase the viewing figures of the programme and hence its usefulness as a reconstruction and public appeal.

If you are trying to suggest the McCanns are capable of dictating the timing of a Crimewatch Reconstruction being undertaken by the BBC and SY then I have even less respect for your notions than previously as that is simply bonkers.

Do you  ?

You don't think there's a chance that Clarence Mitchell  alerted them to it  ?   ...  and that maybe it had to do with the fact that things are not going well in Lisbon and a major distraction is needed  ?

No chance of that possibility  ?

Of course. The Scotland Yard or any other police force would not be announcing future actions 10 days in advance. Only Mr. Mitchell could ever believe that the public was stupid enough to take that pill blindfolded (well, some are taking it).

You clearly are so entrenched in your views that you cannot accept anything which does not fit your rather narrow focus.

Here TV programme schedules are announced well in advance (10 days to 2 weeks is normal) to the newspapers and indeed with non-live programmes and non-live sections of programmes the papers recieve prior copies in order that reviews can be prepared in advance.

It is also normal her for police forces to give details of upcoming Crimewatch Reconstructions well in advance to the press so that the public can be encouraged to watch as unlike Portugal we do not hide such reconstructions from the public. Our view differs from that of Amaral who told us that such requests for assistance from the public were a waste of police time and effort.

No I don't think there is much chance at all of that possibility as I know that the papers will be getting the TV schedules directly from the TV companies around this time for programming two weeks hence.

I don't think it had anything to do with Lisbon.

You may think cynically and conspiratorially all the time. I don't. I understand the rhythm of the media and think that is the simplest and most likely option.

Gilet is totally neglecting the fact that authorities compromised themselves in this saga.

So ignorant of our Indo-European roots !

Not at all. Your presumption of my ignorance is mistaken.

But that does not affect the fact that I believe your posting of the latin 'panem et circenses' instead of the more normal 'bread and circuses' and your allusions to Dharma were both utterly pretentious and a pretence at greater intelligence than other posters here. Unfortunately it just looks rather pathetic when you try to sound so clever while avoiding the simple ways of expressing the same ideas.

Lovely !

So glad you agree. The simplest solution to a problem is always the best. The simplest explanation for an action is always more likely than convoluted conspiracy claims. And the simplest way of expressing an idea is almost always more acceptable, more easily understood and more useful than pretentious attempts to befuddle people with reference to latin terms which translate perfectly acceptably and flowery references to ancient beliefs which don't translate so easily.

I've been informed (that's exceptional) that the McCanns will make an appeal and appear on TV in regard to new information on phone records. It seems they have an interview on the 16th with Redwood to do a TV appearance in Germany.
What should one believe ? Probably think that's time lost.

Indeed they did. By ignoring so many potential leads such as the one offered to the PJ by the Swiss via Interpol in early September 2007 the Portuguese authorities definitely compromised themselves in this case much to the detriment of justice and of course to the poor little girl, Madeleine at the heart of the case.

Thankfully SY are now making up for these mistakes by the PT Police.

A TV show I believe. In fact the Murdoch portuguese friend, Expresso, is announcing it also. But before you call me names and insult me, check yourself in a mirror.

Yes, I agree, I believe they are desperately trying to make up for the time lost by the botched PJ investigation. Yes.

If you read the news articles I have posted in this thread you will see that there are further details about the interviews and appeals. The first is on the 14th I believe when they will appeal on the BBC Crimewatch programme alongside DCI Redwood.

And now is, as I said, unpaid.  Do try to keep up with the latest information. It really helps.

Let’s count the months, shall we?

But five years later than might have been. And 29 months after the start of their review. This is another reason why people are cynical, gilet.
