I've just been having a browse through the insane world of CMOMM - the posters there are already sending complaints to the BBC, before the show has even aired! Unbelievable! What truly idiotic specimens they are.

Leonor had a lawyer, his name is João Grade in the beginning and then all of a sudden Marcos Aragão Correio shows up and takes over. An arguido cannot be questioned without the presence of a lawyer. It's amazing what you people come up with! If Leonor Cipriano had not had a lawyer it would certainly have been a good reason to have her conviction overturned and this has not been the case.

No I haven't. and she didn't. Grade wasn't her lawyer when she was charged. You mean an Arguido, shouldn't be questioned without a lawyer, but she was. Fetched from the prison at 6 in the morning while the head was away.

Grade gave his position up after drugs were planted on him, or so he said. Then low and behold he goes on to be Amarals lawyer.

When Leonor was tortured there was no lawyer at the place. Fact confirmed by the Courts.

I find it a shame that the original documents aren't online.

I'm not criticising the entire system of justice. The supreme court may have found its hands tied in terms of the legal issues that it could address.

That's what will happen in the libel case even though Sadie thinks differently.  Fortunately thanks to Anne's efforts they won't be able to cover it all up this time round.

And in a case "solved" by a convicted liar, Amaral ... and another officer Cristavao who is currently up, on 7 (SEVEN) fraud and other charges.  Of course with Cristavao, he has to be considered innocent ... until he has been proven otherwise


So you think this unsafe trial using only tortured out evidence, proves them as murderers, Icabod ?

Is tortured out evidence a suitable form of evidence for convicting a person ... or is it a gross miscarriage of Justice?

IIRC the court didn't believe the 'motive' for her murder given by the PJ either  (Incest). 

So the court decreed that LC had been tortured.  They didn't accept the motive for why LC would murder her daughter and no forensic evidence was submitted.       PJ officers were later found guilty of perjury and altering documents.    I believe LC was also persecuted via a smear campaign in the press  to turn the public against her before she even got to court.

Why on Earth a re-trial at the very least didn't happen is amazing.

I still haven't found any evidence that the child actually got home that evening.

I've got to agree. Amaral has a very lurid and paranoid mind if his book is anything to go by. The fact that he's got a criminal conviction for falsifying evidence suggests that he would have gone to any lengths, if he had been allowed to, in order to get the result he wanted. Thankfully his superiors stepped in at the right time and got shot of him.

This is just lazy distortion of the facts. You all know damn well what happened and that subsequently cipriano was found to have been lying anyway. His conviction was on a technicality and, according to some analysts (google it so you can't accuse me of cherry picking) driven by the prosecutor involved who had an axe to grind.  To hold someone up as a potential serial offender due to a conviction on a technicality is just twisting facts to suit your agenda. It's clear to people what the McCann supporters are trying to do. Good luck with that when the defence witnesses start speaking

A shame ? Are you suggesting that the Portuguese Ministry of Justice must provide the files of any trial on line regardless of how quick you now fly from the UK to Faro ? Is it like this in your country or is it also a shame ?

Amarals apparent lurid paranoid mind is far less disturbing to me than Kate & her thoughts of paedophiles tearing her daughters genitalia, & imagining her lying cold on the mortuary slab.

Those terrible thoughts would eventually push themselves into the minds of any parent who thought their child was in the hands of a paedaphile no matter how hard they tried to block them out.   They would not be normal if they didn't.

In Kate's case they were fears; in Amaral's case they were prejudices. Important difference.

To actually picture that specific stuff in your mind & to then keep having them same thoughts? Very sick mind.

Constantly the McCanns are accused of lying, yet when Kate the mother of an abducted child writes with honesty and openness that's pulled apart too. To me it was from inside the mind of a mother in pain, who had these terrible thoughts in her head.

Mrs.McCann isn't stupid, she must know that the horrendous thoughts crossing her mind, could well be happening. Damned if they don't and damned if they do.
