I believe that Madeleine McCann  is at the forefront of every posters minds on this forum, whether a 'pro' or an 'anti'.  Questioning why important information that might find her has been suppressed is very much about Madeleine and not her parents. If it had been someone else suppressing the information, I'm sure everyone would be equally shocked.

This is absolutely correct.  No one here, from either side, has the full picture.  All we know is that the police forces of both the UK and Portugal are actively investigating this abduction, and neither force considers the McCanns as suspects.

They don't even know for sure what the crime is yet so expecting them to name suspects is a bit optimistic don't you think?

They do know what the crime is - abduction - and of course they don't know yet who the abductor/s is/are, but both forces have stated that the McCanns are not suspects.
