 Sedation
Definition

Sedation is the act of calming by administration of a sedative. A sedative is a medication that commonly induces the nervous system to calm.

Purpose

The process of sedation has two primary intentions. First, sedation is recommended to allow patients the ability to tolerate unpleasant diagnostic or surgical procedures and to relieve anxiety and discomfort. Second, sedation for uncooperative patients may expedite and simplify special procedures that require little or no movement. Additionally, sedation is often desirable to diminish fear associated with operative procedures. Sedation is typically used for common diagnostic tests that require prolonged immobilization such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed axial tomography (CAT) scanning. Some cases that require sedation may also necessitate the use of analgesics to decrease pain associated with a procedure or test.

This (non)"issue" has already been answered.

The McCanns were first accused of sedating the children in September 2007.

Stop derailing the thread.

no, the ISSUE is why the mccanns didnt get their toddlers checked out pdq after their eldest was abducted and which they believed was drugged along with their other two.....so much so the mother was checking them for signs of life that very night! how the feck would she know they werent given some deadly drug????Stop  obfuscating.........the question has nothing at all to do  with kate mccann being accused of drugging the twins months later...nothing at all....the question is why she did not take them to a and e that very night! To check for drugs or anything else....

The membership only has your word for that davel, unless you are prepared to post (or have your fabled typist do it for you) your personal details and professional qualifications on the forum then the membership can make up their own minds as to the veracity of your claim !

Now once AGAIN what is a "McCann sceptic" ?

P.S. Calpol is a sedative according to the Oxford English dictionary !

I Have no intention of revealing my extensive undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications although anyone with any intelligence will recognise where they lie...so...

keep making an absolute idiot of yourself...you may have noticed not one person on the forum supports your view...but please..be my guest..keep making an absolute idiot of yourself...try googling ..is paracetamol a  sedative

a drug taken for its calming or sleep-inducing effect

And Calpol neither calms nor induces sleep.

A calming agent is an anxiolytic
A sleep inducing agent is called an hypnotic
A pain reliever is called an analgesic.

So once again you revert to form, posting unsubstantiated claims on the forum, most likely B.S. imo !
So what's a "McCann sceptic" ?

In your opinion pat..but we have established beyond doubt that your opinion is worthless

Why would I ? I haven't raised the definition of paracetamol, I've asked questions regarding it's pain assuaging properties.

Now once AGAIN what is a "McCann sceptic" ?
