Serious abuse and lies on the internet by peeps who should know better.
A book written to make money, virtually accusing them of involvement
Accusations of being swingers ... leaked disinformation about them
A phoney Investigation company which leached a small fortune from the Madeleine Finding fund

I could go on, but I am sure others can add.

The lowlife who tore down or deliberately destroyed their posters aimed at finding Madeleine.

That was a criminal act because it destroyed posters which had cost a lot to design, to produce, to export and then post.  Some where huge and must have cost a fortune.  But even more so this cruel act showed a moral deficiency in the person who was determined to try and prevent Madeleine being found ... and further in destroying  the hopes of the family of Madeleine.

I have to agree with this most strongly.

Whatever mistakes the McCanns have made in their handling of the media and in certain legal matters  - and I personally believe they have made many - they are not criminals in any way shape or form. Fallible human beings just like the rest of us, but not guilty of any crime.

There is absolutely no evidence, nor even the merest hint, of any criminal conduct by the McCanns or their family members and close friends. Suggestions to the contrary are groundless.

It's not rubbish. The papers began attacking the Portuguese less than a week after the disappearance, and it didn't ever cease during the next two years before the posters incident.

There are echos in the way the Mccanns were treated by the PJ /PT press to the way The Ciprianos were treated.

Both parties had salacious gossip, disinformation, deliberately spread about them.  Propaganda designed to turn the PT public against them?    Easier to prosecute or even "fit up" if the general public were against them ?  OMO

And, I suppose, it is all good stuff if a book on the case is to be written later.  A bit of illicit sex ... erm, that makes good reading, sort of thing!  Again I am only wondering, but I dont much care for too many co-incidences

Behave, Sadie It isn't a Hollywood movie. Nobody planned anything but police investigations are subject to all kinds of pressures that don't help them run smoothly. Ask the Met police - they know all about how difficult investigations can be when the media swamps them.
