Maybe his only language - or his only 'other' language was English?     No point in talking to a Dutch or German little child in English -   as they wouldn't understand a word he was saying to them.      And he obviously did speak to them as they were able to describe his 'accent'.

Why would he need to speak to them though?

He only wants to burglarise and mollest doesn't he, does it matter what part of Europe his victims are from?

I'd think.. 'shit this is pretty serious, some guy has gained untraced entry into my holiday apartment & abused my kid while I slept, I don't want this sort of thing to happen to anyone else, this guy is a danger to kids & must be stopped' & also 'I want my effing money back, with interest'

So yes, I would tell the police & the press & make a ruddy great song & dance about it.

It would appear that the parents of these children who were sexually assaulted in Portugal returned home to Britain and just got on with life  ...   until the Crimewatch appeal 

Why didn't they report the incidents to the British police immediately they got home  ? ...  if only because that would be the only way they could be made aware of what the Portuguese police were doing regarding investigating the crime 

It's all rather baffling
