You can not blame a child for an adult's vile behaviour! You are as wrong as it's possible to be.
I imagine that each an every child who has been a victim is haunted by the idea that they are in some way responsible for their own abuse and that of subsequent children if they didn't speak out. They aren't. They are victims, not f*cking accomplices!

egocentrism, vastly different from
egotism, which is an integral component of every child's progress through the stages of maturity.
The concept describes the gradually developing maturity of a child's ability to understand the world from the perspective of others: and a person -- of either sex and any age -- the victim of violation would struggle to rationalise their response in respect of
what is best of others.
I hesitate to say it
can't be done, but it is a truly remarkable person who can do it.
