A brief reminder, it was tax payers money not SY's.

..........................and what does it have to show for it ?

Have the xenophobic UK press helped in this case ?

Did the refusal of Leicestershire police help ?

Theres your statement Stephen I asked you for an example and you have failed to give one

No davel, I knew the content of the link.

The question remains and is pertinent to this case and others of course.

So you are saying that the UK Police always tell the truth and never withhold information WITH FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUESTS  ?

..............and with the extra point I omitted last night in anticipation of your response.

You originally criticised the uk police for witholding information from the portuguese....your post is still there..when asked for an example you give acase where the uk police have refused to give information to a member of the public under a FOI request...this has no relevance at all to your original claim

No, Portugal either accepts SY's help in the form of a joint investigation or choose to go it alone. As was pointed out by Cornelius, Sy would be Robin to the PJ's Batman.

Did Britain ever come up with the documentation in the form of financial details and medical records that Portugal asked for 7 years ago?

The PJ didn't ask for Madeleine's medical records. They asked for her dental records - which were supplied by the Home Office.

From the PJ files:-
 Quote
 11. Page 57 (PJ RefXVII) Request to provide Madeleine McCann's dental records. A copy of the dental records was obtained on 15th May 2008, and is enclosed. A statement producing these as an exhibit is also enclosed.
End quote

According to Correio da Manhã it was the Public Ministry who decided that the PJ should not have access to Madeleine's medical records.

Quote

Correio da Manhã 1,paper edition, 21.07.2008 Translation by astro

Clinical records - The Public Ministry decided that the PJ should not access the clinical records of Madeleine and the twins Sean and Amélie. The prosecutor sustained that such would violate the privacy of the children and their parents, and the evidence might be considered null. For the magistrate, the request was not duly sustained, either.
End quote.

The notion that innocence prevails over guilt – when there is no evidence to the contrary – is what separates civilization from barbarism.    Unfortunately, there are remains of barbarism among us.    Until very recently, it headed the PJ in Portimão. I hope he was the last one.
