So on the basis that the Lagos Marina sighting was made by only one individual, who appears not to have said he was certain it was Madeleine and it was in a place 7km away (albeit at a marina, full of boats which could have been used to ferry her out of the area and only a few hours after the child was abducted) then it renders the sight not credible & irrelevant, in your view? See, if I was investigating this I'd want to trace the couple just to be certain, not just make my mind up on the spot that it couldn't possibly have any relevance whatsoever. Would I have been foolish to do so?
In view of what was already known about coastal criminal 'activities' - surely this sighting should have been investigated as a matter of urgency.
Quote from Amarals book:
The Algarvian coast, very popular with sailing enthusiasts, is bordered by a large number of marinas. Pleasure boats from every province berth here. Situated 120 nautical miles from the African continent, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, it is the most accessible coast for entering the continent of Europe. It attracts many yachtsmen, who appreciate the beauty of its beaches and its inlets,
but it also attracts all sorts of traffickers.Unquote
