perils of such conduct....perhaps amarals lawyers...all of them... have advised him of such and thats why he has sacked them...he is only delaying the inevitable total humilation

John has it right.

It was also clear yesterday how self-righteous the mccanns are.

Another brief reminder dave, the mccanns are responsible for what happened to Madeleine and no one else.

sorry truth it some how ended up in your post...just to clarify it was my words my post

well if this was a tactical move by Goncalo ...IMO it is certainly working .....they would have been better off keeping their mouth shut..[no wonder they had a spokesman]...

its brought this well and truly in the spotlight now to show people how selfish k g mcc are ME ME ME...

they have to arrange child care .....its by not doing that in the first place that has landed them there...

the statement comes across as ...its all about the expense the inconvenience...etc ..exactly what Goncalo probably wanted ...[give them enough rope]...

.

"We want to get justice for Madeleine....no g mcc, Goncalo Amaral wants justice for Madeleine. You and k mcc want $2,000,000.00

Dispensing of ones lawyer/advocate at the last minute is nothing new but the question could be asked as to why now?

It has been suggested that Amaral sacked Santos de Oliveira because he wanted to address the Court in the same way as the McCann's will do but Oliveira didn't concur.  If when Amaral appoints a new lawyer and he then makes application for Amaral to be heard then we will know the truth.

The second thing I would say is that it is not appropriate for pursuers to make statements to the gathered Press outside Court before a case is settled.  I would have thought that Isabel Duarte would have warned her clients of the perils of such conduct by now.

Interesting that you make no criticism of Amaral who goes on chat shows on a regular basis elaborating his unevidenced claims against the McCanns, describing his motives for defending his "honour" and generally discussing the case.

I am suggesting that perhaps his lawyer didn't concur and advised him in no uncertain terms that his behaviour was actually damaging his chances in the case? And Amaral did not like this affront to his right to say what he likes when he likes so sacked him.

It has also been suggested by some that his motive in sacking the man was simply a bit of legal trickery and the comment was made that its rather odd that a sacked lawyer colludes with the defendant by going to court to explain that he has been sacked and the defendant cannot therefore continue. We will soon see what pans out.

But it is obviously important that you indicate to us that the McCanns expressing simply their natural indignation at this disgraced ex-cop's fourth or fifth cynical interruption of the case is somehow wrong in your opinion.

No sense of bias at all in that post above from you, oh deary me no!

no i think it is the other way round elenor....its because the mccs sue where ever they can ...and imo try to destroy anyone who does not belive there verson..or stand up to them

Such wilful exaggeration. The McCanns sue only when there is no other option to remove the lies about them and their daughter from circulation. They have conducted a tiny handful of cases in relation to the horrendous abuse they have received from Amaral and others over the years.

After learning about Amaral's coffin claims, it is clear to me that it is actually him who is feeding these sick theories about Madeline being dead this or that way to the internet forums. He is intentionally feeding the trolls probably using uneducated people who cannot sit down and read a book or a clearer information about his claims.

How many people in Portugal will tomorrow read Correiro Da Manha and will believe that Madeleine was hidden by her parents in a coffin in the church bellow the legs of a dead woman.

This man is sick. He needs treatment!

This hypothesis was actually put forward on SIC in the morning by Hernâni de Carvalho before Gonçalo Amaral mentioned it in Correio da Manhã. BTW, it was a possibility that was brought up during the investigation because the parents had 24 hour access to the church and the coffin was in the church during the night unattended, ready for cremation. Not so strange really.

Your post merely emphasises the bias in the earlier post by John. Amaral has made far more TV appearances than the McCanns or had you not noticed that fact? He appears to be addicted to the chat sofas for which he no doubt receives a substantial payment. So much for his penury!

The trial has been adjourned for 3 weeks! You could hardly call that stalling. Anyway, no matter what way the verdict goes, appeals will be made and it will drag on for another few months.
