It is 100% relevant to the issue at hand.

Amaral in his cynical and contemptuous behaviour yesterday is simply continuing to demonstrate those aspects of his personality which brought him a criminal conviction and which got him thrown off the McCann case in disgrace for mouthing off to a journalist. It is a pattern of behaviour which has continued from day one of the case (coincidentally the day he was made arguidio in the case he would later be convicted in) to yesterday.

I have no faith in any investigation based primarily on the botched efforts of the initial PJ team ever reaching a conclusion. They never searched properly. They completely misinterpreted the dog alerts (believing them to be evidential). They showed no understanding of the DNA results etc. That is why I am so supportive of the SY investigation which is attempting (albeit after a delay of years) to undertake proper searches and detailed investigations. Unfortunately they are hampered by the time delay and may not come be able to solve the case. Everyone understands the need for urgency and thoroughness in a missing child enquiry it seems except the initial PJ team.

The claim that the PJ never searched properly is a blatant lie and to compare the exhaustive land, sea and aerial searches with Scotland Yard's five minutes of glory is a complete joke.  You really do have a bee in your bonnet Gilet.

And just for the record the mound west of Rua 25 de Abril was thoroughly searched by the GNR sniffer dogs on the morning after Madeleine disappeared.

With regard to your question about the McCanns having interrupted the investigation, are you seriously suggesting that it was the actions of the McCanns that led directly to the archival? I find such a statement quite bizarre and would like you to elaborate with details of how they managed this. If you meant that the PJ would have continued a full investigation of all the potential scenarios had Kate answered the questions her lawyers advised her not to answer I think you are barking up the wrong tree completely. Pleased do elaborate though.

It is stated in the archive report that the McCanns had the opportunity to clear their name but failed to take it.  Maybe the archive report is flawed too?

He has been doing it ever since The Trial began.  But yesterday was a brahma.  And no doubt he will argue that no one can prove him wrong.

You are obviously ignorant of the law.  Mr Amaral is legally within his right to dispense of his lawyer but the McCanns are not legally permitted to discuss the libel case in public and especially so outside the very court where the proceedings are taking place.  If anyone has a big mouth.....

They discussed his absence, and not The Trial.  There is a difference.
