I don't suppose the judge will be paying attention to internet tittle-tattle.
I doubt if the judge will take cognisance of anything which was not put in front of her in open court. I get the impression she was none too impressed with some of the evidence given particularly when she commented on the book not living up to the claims on its cover.
Having to reschedule the date for the closing arguments and the victim impact statements won't have made a particularly good impression either. In saying that I am sure she will be aware of the undercurrents directed against Madeleine and her family.
For example, I doubt if she will be unaware of Dr Amaral's recent interview in which he did himself no favours if the translations I have read are anything to go by. The recent graffiti episode in Praia Da Luz cannot have escaped the judge's attention and will serve only to enable Isabel Duarte's argument to be appreciated with more clarity.
Dr Amaral has seen the writing on the wall and believes he is going to lose this case and sees postponement as an option till something better turns up. Obviously the expensive excursion into Madeleine's Ward of Court status failed to achieve the desired effect, so a dig in till next September or October - which may be on the cards if his new lawyer is given time to prepare - was the only ace he had up his sleeve.
