Cuddle cat was in the cupboard when Eddie alerted to the papers on top; Eddie just was not interested in CC; please check the video again and you will see that still showing CCbeing packed away is taken from footage which is at a remove from the time Eddie alerted.
Eddie did not bark in the direction of the chair and the table because CC was there; when Eddie barked CC was in the cupboard.

Out of all those items on the table, on top of the sideboard and  in the sideboard, why did Grime decide that Eddie had marked CC- the same CC not marked when it was in the bin & in the middle of the floor? Why didn't he open the other sideboard door, right beside where Eddie was standing, barking?
The same can be said of the key to the Renault Scenic - how did Grime know it was the key & not the car upholstery the dog was indicating?
It's all a farce, and I don't know why we bother to dissect every minute detail - right down to the person who touches Sean's red t-shirt seconds before Eddie marks it.

IMO he did not know whether it was the keycard, or something else, and that's why he decided to sandbox-test the keycard, to find out whether that was the source or not..
A sensible test to do, as the keycard was in the driver door pocket just above the driver door seal where Eddie sniffed when he alerted.

Was Eddie taken back to the vehicle after the removal of the card and no alert given?
